@ayyemichelle @joogman23 I hope one of the college being released today is engineering!
Does anyone know if decisions are released based on when the application was received? My major is biology and I’m instate and I’ve seen so many science majors notified already. Feeling a little left out…
The transition of decisions go by acceptances first and then trickle later on with denials and waitlists. Please be cautious because if there was actually a release of bio majors that were in state already, you might not have been chosen; just my two cents.
@joogman23 is there any way you can tell us which colleges will be released today?
How do the “wait list” work? Anyone on that list really get in?
I was feeling fairly confident since I have a 4.12 csu, 3.83 uw, 1990 sat, and way too many ECS. Thanks for your input though.
@stressed4lyfe I do not have the proper information to decipher whether or not certain colleges will be released at this time, at least for freshman. Like I have posted previously, every single year is different. It just depends on the staff.
@apatterson96 you have prestine stats no doubt about that, but, a person with lower stats than that can still get in before you do. It’s all apart of the Algorithm that Cal Poly sets up before they run through applications.
Got in for Biological Sciences!
1860 SAT
4.15 (W)
3.84 (NW)
In-state
@Luckymomof3 Hardly anyone gets in off of the waitlist being that it’s Cal Poly. If anyone that is selected for admission declines their offer, then they move directly to the next highest rank applicant on the ranking and they will receive admission. It’s a crap shoot because hardly anyone declines a Cal Poly offer. I am speaking for Business majors strictly; it very well can be the same way for other majors because only a certain amount of people get in.
@joogman23 if i applied under philosophy, have a 4.4 wgpa, 3.93 uwgpa, have a ton of extra curriculars, and am in state, what do you think my chances would be?
Has anyone from the College of Agriculture heard yet??
@kmwhms I havent, applied ED and was deferred. major is wine &viticulture.
Hopefully we hear soon then…maybe today? @leandraduke
@ambiemills To me those are good stats. Like I’ve said before, I don’t work with students other than Business majors. What I can say is that you have a good shot being that your stats are good and that you are a philosophy major. Just be cautious that for the Algorithm, they cap out GPA’s at 4.2 and that’s what people need to understand. It wont hurt you at all that you have above a 4.2, you just will max out on points in the GPA category. You should get in, it just depends if other people have other advantages like being from the service area, parents education, dependent of a veteran, and things like that. These applicants could blow right by you during the MCA process.
@kmwhms I hope so, I’ve been waiting literally 5 months!
thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me! I understand that there is no way to know, but it somewhat hopeful in my opinion.
also, do you have any idea when they are going to be posting from the college of liberal arts?
What is the “service area” to which you refer?
