**OFFICIAL CAL POLY SLO CLASS of 2019 Regular Decision** Thread

I got into the portal but still no decision for me.

Has college of agriculture released decisions yet?

Yea I don’t think I got in, I’m an in-state Biology major with a 2040 SAT, 31 ACT, 4.2W, 3.7UW, 57 units from a community college, and 300+ hours of community service. There has been no change in my portal, but I think all in-state Bio majors got in yesterday.

I am able to get back into the portal now as well, but…still no decision!

Does anyone know if acceptances will be released this weekend?

no decision yet either :((

Could you elaborate on Cal Poly’s “service area?” What does that mean? Where is it geographically? Why is it important?

It is back up. Now I am worried, because my D is biomedical engineering and still “no determination has been made”. She has a 4.2 GPA, 33 ACT, 760 SAT II for Chem and Math II, 7 AP classes, cross country, girl scouts, has her own tutoring company, sophomore homecoming princess, and in a musical this year. She was accepted to CPP, but I am so hoping she has other choices. She is still waiting for 6 UC’s that won’t be until next month.

Webportals working now but still no decision

@67dadofsenior - Here is a link to the csu service areas - http://www.calstate.edu/sas/documents/CSULocalAdmission-ServiceAreas.pdf .

@67dadofsenior‌ I once heard that California State schools have an obligation to serve the kids that come out of the high schools in the area. Like, for example, I live near CSUN so they have an obligation to let me in before kids from other areas. Idk if this is true, but I’ve heard it before.

@ucladeb I think your daughter will definitely get into a UC.

That is true. Cal states have an obligation to local area students, first.

Anyone know about communications? Have they posted communications acceptances, as of yet?

@mlegolstein - I have heard the same thing. It is crazy if you did not get in, you have great stats. I feel for you guys! It is insanely difficult to get into a lot of the UCs and SLO these days!

OOS student just got in Biomed Engineering

Has anyone heard from Business Administration yet? No decision yet. In state. ACT 32 GPA 3.83.

@ucladeb My friend at Berkeley got denied to SLO and she told me to probably expect the same because they tend to reject overqualified in-state students. SLO isn’t my first choice, but it is my first (possible) rejection so it’s kinda weird. I think I have a better chance at UCB or UCLA because you actually get to tell them about yourself through your essays.

@mlegoldstein - that is true. I know someone who was rejected SLO and accepted UCLA. Good luck to you. I just realized the only engineering acceptance has been OOS, so she still has a chance.

@mlegoldstein‌ that is false, it’s just bitter people who say that
