**OFFICIAL CAL POLY SLO CLASS of 2019 Regular Decision** Thread

For people looking to see what their chances are, look here: http://admissions.calpoly.edu/prospective/profile.html

The department animal science is in: GPA-3.82, ACT-27, SAT-1236, so I think you have a pretty good shot @kmwhms

Looks like these are last years stats. Is there a link for this year ED stats? And wow Engineering is competitive.

So if Cal Poly only looks at ACT math and writing, do they do the same for the SAT?

Yes

I once saw a break down by Engineering major of expected applicants vs expected admitted students. Now I’ve lost the link does anyone have it??

^ Here’s the report for all Cal Poly schools - interesting data.

The break down by Engineering major of expected applicants vs expected admitted students is on p.10.

@bobwina computer science is one of the most competitive/difficult majors to get into. Your GPA will help but your ACT is below the average for this major. I wish you the best. Good luck

@jlev96‌ I know, right? My first ACT was 35E 35M 32R 24S. Then I brought science up to 33 and reading went down. Lol

Me! I’m applying as an international though. Cal Poly is my first choice but my csu gpa is only 3.75. My SAT scores are okay though.

@Charri39‌ Your gpa looks good (although I don’t know how your csu gpa is higher than your standard gpa). Your test scores, however, are well below average. It would be a reach. Good luck.

California resident
3.68 GPA
1250 (Cr+M) SAT
21+ hours EC
20 hours work expierience
Accounting major

@UnimodalMan‌, CP superscores, so they’ll take your best individual sections from different tests and combine them.

Does anyone know when they let RD students know if they will receive any merit aid?

California Resident
4.14 (W GPA)
3.75 (CSU GPA)
27 ACT
Major: Kinesiology

@natbub Kinesiology can be a tough major to get into, natbub. Your gpa looks good but it would still be tough being that your ACT is slightly low. Do you have any misdemeanors such as an MIP, for example, that SLO would be worried about?

when they release admission decisions, do they go in alphabetical order by major or…?

@Sunflowergirlryd They go by level of qualification. The most qualified people generally hear first and the borderline people generally hear later.
