I guess that didn’t help. Don’t be ambitious with EA. Apply ED to Cornell, Columbia, or Brown and get in. Getting deferred is tough.

Common App Essay: My inability to understand my father’s perspective as a Vietnamese refugee from the Vietnam war, but through engineering and science, a common interest, I was able to establish a relationship with a father I had resented for most of my life
For the “fun” essay, I wrote about how my sister and I enjoy going to museums to make fun of the absurdity of Modern Art, but how through that, I find my own way to understand it
Other than that, my essays were normal. I’d rate them 8/10.

I think that not only taking every rigorous class my school offers but also seeking out even more helped a lot. I also conceptualized and wrote my own Physics theorem that I submitted with my application, which probably helped a lot as well.[/ul]

It’s okay, I got rejected from UNC where my GPA was a 3.7, and I’d taken AP Lang and APES. I guess admissions are just not fair for us.
