Ha! It turned out that they uploaded the scores a couple minutes before 5am ET. Anyways, how did everyone do?

I'll go first

CR: 730
M: 780
W:800
Composite: 2310
Superscore: 2330
Comment: I still find it hard to believe that I messed up a math question, though I would attribute that to constant sleep deprivation, which obviously was detrimental to my logical reasoning ability. Still, I'm contented enough to be done with the SAT.

^ I’m applying to UBC as my backup, but only if I get deferred/rejected from U Chicago’s Early Action plan. Besides those, my choices are all quite ambitious: I’m also applying to Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, MIT, and UC Berkeley since I’ll be a U.S. permanent resident, and moving to California for my senior year. :)

Good luck applying to those schools! You have your sights set high (which is a really good thing), and I hope that you’ll get into one of those top-tier Ivy league institutions.

I’m applying to UBC (I live in Vancouver, so it makes sense), SFU, and McGill. As for the US, I’m hoping for NYU, USC, UCLA, USF… good schools, but distinctly less prestigious.

Good luck guys… I’ll be rooting for all of you I did all of this last year and got into Emory, U. Chicago, Notre Dame, NYU, Brandeis, Boston College etc. If any of you have any questions about the admissions process, just feel free to ask me. Oh, and amazing scores from some of you guys. Keep up the good work.

Well it was alright for my first time, I guess … sigh I was hoping to just get it done with, but now I only see room for improvement. I will be retaking if I have time.
Massive congrats to the posters above-- you all inspire me to improve :)

^ good advice Maxy, and thank you! Your SAT II’s are stunning I just wish I had started testing sooner.

I will be applying to the same schools as fledgling; my teen years would not be wasted if I got into any of them lol. UBC would be my back-up as well.

To Canadian applicants: HYP and the rest of the Ivies are great but I suggest expanding your options a bit beyond that. The US honestly has many fantastic universities and colleges. I would put at least 25 under “fantastic” and that includes top liberal arts colleges and top 20 universities. A lot of internationals simply look at prestige and shoot for Ivies but nowadays the gap, in terms of education, between non-HYP Ivies and schools like Duke, Chicago, Rice, Emory and Northwestern is extremely small. Just a thought.

Agreed Alam. The Ivies are a great thing to shoot for, but regardless of how qualified you are, there are simply too many applicants. Demand FAR exceeds supply, and invariably, some of you will be rejected from at least one, if not all, of the Ivies.

Like Alam said, there are TONS of amazing schools in the USA, thats one thing no one can fault them on. They have UMich, all of the UC campuses, Stanford, Duke, Emory, Rice, Tufts, Clemson, etc. Then there are the LACs like Wesleyan, Carleton, etc. Check these schools out guys. If you only shoot for Ivies, disappointment will abound come April 1st, 2011.

ANDD: to anyone who reads my post and thinks, “Easy for him to say, he got accepted to Yale”, DONT. I applied to other schools, including UPenn, and I got rejected. As well, I was a very cocky kid who got VERY lucky in the recruitment process. Looking back, Im realizing how overly confident I was in my 2090 SAT score and my 95% average. Dont make the same mistake I did, guys. I got lucky, but a lot of you wont. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but its true.

Anyhow, rejection is not the end of the world for most of us since we can go to a decent Canadian University instead. I wouldn’t be able to travel that far from home to attend US college if it wasn’t a top school, unfortunately.
