Official Carnegie Mellon Class of 2020 Applicants Discussion Thread

Hey guys what does your “Where Am I In the Process” say under “Student Tax Return?” Mine says “waived, 22-march-2016.”

@XAtlas oh awesome link! Never even saw that before- thanks

My W2 says waived but my student tax return doesn’t. Anyone know why? I’ve never worked or earned money.

Applied to SCS. Crossing my fingers it works out. Wish you all the best of luck with CMU by the way!

Is the admissions portal down for anyone else?

@TurboPlo It’s working for me

Guys, for international candidates do you guys know which mailing service Carnegie Mellon uses if they are to send the package?

@qwerty1309 Not sure, but maybe DHL? (most other universities used that for me)

@neverbefore If you count the amount of applicants accepted under ED, that drops our chances even more. S O S

@ymehkri Contact the office of undergrad immediately. You may have forgotten to sign the waiver form on IDOC, or CMU may still be processing it. If it’s the initial then your financial aid may be delayed.

guys do you think Carnegie Mellon mailed the results?

guys one more thing do rejections even recieve a letter?

No, only accepted and wait listed

For the financial aid stuff, “waived” is correct if you didn’t have a W2 and/or didn’t file a 1040 with the IRS

On my portal I just see the red text that says Admission and Financial Aid Notification in the middle of the page next to my name. I don’t see any buttons…is mine different?

@crimsonwarrior mine says waived March 23rd
@allbid are you international???

@yoyo27 so this is a good sign, right? why would they be looking at our financial aid information 2 days before decisions are released? 8-X

yoyo27 - no I am domestic, not international What do you all see on that page?

@crimsonwarrior @yoyo27 My Student Tax Returns also say “Waived” as of March 23.

They should have all your FA info at this point because they send FA info with decisions. Every document should either say “received” or “waived”.
