I, for one, cannot believe I was accepted since I wrote about Rachael Ray hahaha

To all those applying next year… I GOT IN WITH A 3.4 UW and 2050 SAT…and I’m an international!!! Yes, it’s possible, folks! Don’t be discouraged by sub-stellar scores. Make sure you package yourself well and have a strong focus point. Don’t be the “all-around guy or gal” but be the model train track enthusiast or capoeira dancer.

Neal - rofl, that’s awesome! I actually wrote about him for a scholarship essay; don’t think I’m going to get it though given that it’s in memory of a democrat 0_o. Anyway, congrats!

bluebubbles - I think if you’re an international it’s easier to get in (it’s a ‘hook’), unless you need significant aid and there are a lot of people applying from your country. But maybe I’m wrong? Also, I don’t necessarily know that the second part of your advice goes for everyone because colleges admit both ‘well-rounded’ students and ‘lopsided’ students (talents/interests concentrated in one area versus spread out). Personally, I think my fairly evenly balanced qualities are what have granted me success in this process, but it varies for everyone. For future applicants looking at this, the best thing to do is just do what you love and let that passion shine through in your application/interview. Always be yourself - genuinity is important in this process.
And congrats!!!

There seem to be a /lot/ of people on the waitlist… everyone I know irl got accepted. Good luck to you guys, though!

I got accepted! I have a 3.8 uw gpa and got a 2070 on sat, not great stats but i think my essay on george washington and the common app helped alot and i was also involved alot in music. Idk, i think i was the only one from my school to get in but then again most haven’t even heard of it. I’m really ecstatic! Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck to those who have been wl and want to go!

with my decision letter, i got a Ps from the dean saying that my application was exceptionally strong and he wishes i should attend CMC
feels really good
any1 else got the same letter ?

Politica18 - yea, I think it’s a lot easier without aid but I don’t know where I fall in this case. I checked off that I would not be applying for aid in the original application but went ahead and turned in the CSS form anyway in late January. I won’t get a lot of aid though :S

rupani, i just got my package and the dean also wrote a note! im so excited right now :D

how come there are so many international indians at cmc? i dont understand that. i took a couple classes there and there are many straight outa india indians studying there.

just got my package! And the dean wrote on my letter too :)

Rejected. Just got it in the mail today. I didn’t even know it came online. Whatever though. I got into Cal and UCSD and I would rather go to both of those over Claremont

[] Weaknesses: Scores and Rank
[li] Why you think you were accepted: Package + NCAA Athlete[/li][/ul]General Comments: CMC takes Leadership and community activeness into account with AN EQUAL WEIGHT to grades. Basically, they look at an applicant and say - will this person be successful in CMC’s environment? I tried to cater my application to them, and I ended up not really having to because it was by far and above my first choice.

All in all - I think I got in for 3 reasons - Leadership, the fact that I’m running XC and Track for CMS, and I wrote my Leadership Essay on Goku from Dragon Ball Z - and it was boss.
