@YSuSSS PT right? I’m assuming it’ll be the same this year. Thank you for the info! :)

waitlisted

Rejected. I hope one of you guys got in ^^

Sorry to hear that, @moriartee. Breaks my heart to see someone not get into their dream school. I hope something even better than CMC works out for you!

Accepted after previously being waitlisted out of high school. For all those who were either waitlisted or rejected, do not despair. This decision does not define you at all. If you’re a rising sophomore, and CMC remains your dream school, I would highly encourage you to apply again. I believe one of the major reasons I was accepted this time around was further demonstrated interest, including that I had previously applied. Good luck to everyone with their college decisions!

@fncrane thank you for your kind words my friend. I’m still deciding between UCLA and Cal.
@jg94403 congratulations! I’m a junior now so it may be too late for me. Still very happy to see someone getting in ^^

I was accepted! I’m pretty surprised to have gotten in, I wasn’t expecting it.
I think I will be declining CMC though, so hopefully one of you off the waitlist will get in! :)

@brigitr congrats! Where are you going instead?

@moriartee I will be attending Georgetown or Yale.
So sorry to hear you didn’t get in :(

I was waitlisted. I’m pretty happy about it though because I was scared I would be straight up rejected. Does anyone here know how many kids they take off the waitlist, if any?

CMC usually doesn’t take anyone from wait list. Sorry but it is true.

How many people do they normally put on it? I totally thought I’d be flat out rejected too.

I can only find info for the regular decision waitlist, and for that they once took no one off of it. Other than that, there’s no data for transfers.

can you guys please post your stats?

@spike22
I committed to CMC this past weekend. My final choice was between CMC and UPenn.

As you’ve requested, my stats are as follows:

HS GPA: 3.94 (School doesn’t weight, but took 9 AP classes, and I went to a three year HS)
Class rank: Top 5%, unweighted
ACT: 31 (32 E, 31 M, 33 R, 29 S, Essay 11) ; SAT: 2100 (650 CR, 660 M, 790 W, Essay 12)
EC’s - President FBLA, twice placed second nationally, President No Place For Hate, officer MUN with a few research paper awards, internship with political fundraising company (with a few prominent clients), volunteer for local state representative, part-time job, etc.

College GPA: 3.8 (Large State School)
EC’s: Leadership with non-profit higher education access program for first-generation, low-income students, volunteer as tutor with low-income students (98% of students are first-generation East African immigrants), consulting program that paired me with local start up, entrepreneurship program, TEDx at my school.

If I had to attribute admission to anything I would guess it was my essays. Hope this helps!

Does anyone know anything about the waitlist? I’ve tried my best to do some research in older threads and other places online but I really couldn’t get anything. I’m not expecting to be admitted off the waitlist, but I’m just wondering how long they’ll keep us waiting after June 1.

I feel your pain fncrane. So far I saw that they post nothing about transfer waitlist, only freshman waitlist. I saw in another thread that someone got off the freshman waitlist so that is kind of cool seeing as the past couple of years they rarely take people off of the freshman waitlist. As for how long we will wait, I have no idea. When I was waitlisted at a school last year I think I found out at most maybe two weeks after.

For sophomore transfers, do you think they weigh ACT / SAT scores heavily?

Probably more heavily than for junior transfers, but I don’t think it’s as important as for some other schools. Just depends on the student.

Called admissions a little while ago to see if they had any updates on whether they’ll be pulling from the waitlist, and the lady said they’re still trying to check their numbers from the people who committed. She did say that it’s probably a good thing if we haven’t heard anything yet.
