**Official Class of 2008 Decisions Thread**

RD decisions are in! Early!

Let's try to eliminate all discussion posts within this thread and keep all posts strictly decisions. Just copy/paste the following list and take out all the spaces between the brackets and enter your stats.

The reason I only want decisions posted within this thread is for the future classes who want to see who was accepted/rejected, and it starts to look cluttered if every other post is "Omg, when will I hear?" So if you have a personal question, make a separate thread and you will get an answer!

KBaher-
Sorry about bending the format rule but I am interested how you got the word of you RD acceptance. By mail, email or was there a clue on the Applicant WebAdvisor page? When?
Congratulations!

It's okay! I got my acceptance package yesterday in the mail. And thanks! (: I'm really excited. I have a friend from my school who also got accepted via mail yesterday.

Everyone, try to make a separate thread with questions so this can be purely stats!

Also, I hate to post again, but on the site, under "admission status" it does say:

Status: Complete
As of: 2/22/08
Start Term: 2008FA

But I have no idea what it said before. Hope that helps!

Scholarships: n/a

General Comments: I'm so happy I've been accepted! I can't wait to do an overnight stay.

Finally got the fat letter yesterday. Merit aid was very disappointing especially when compared to other LA schools in the Northwest. I was shocked to see that Rainmomma’s son received the same small amount and he had a 2350 SAT.
It looks like Whitman is out; too expensive. With the 60:40 female to male split I was hoping that a smart, white male with two working parents could afford Whitman. Whitman’s huge endowment will continue to be preserved!

where are you located usski? And when was the letter dated?

whitman is kind of expensive, and its a shame that they didnt give you enough aid! im sure theyve lost an otherwise excellent student.

gah, im near the west coast (AZ) and want to know if i got in or not...im pretty sure it will arrive today. im just waiting desperately for the mail man

OniLawliet-
Posted on 3/26 and I live near Seattle.
Hope you get in, Whitman is a good school.

Congrats to everyone who got in! Don't forget to join the Whitman 2012 Facebook Group after you've been accepted!

Congrats to everyone!

usski: I believe $10,000 is the maximum merit aid they will award, unless you demonstrate financial need. Wish it were more, but even without aid Whitman would be more affordable than lots of New England LACs, and it's so much better than almost all the PNW LACs :)!

Rainmama-
Better how?

Just kidding, in a way; I don't want to start a big fight about the merits of all the schools in the area. I am just a big fan of Whitman. I've taught many Whitman grads, and they've impressed me mightily. They learn to write well and think analytically. I was very happy that my son decided to apply there, because I know he would get a great education and be around smart and unpretentious kids.
