I thinks its very honorable for all of you who are withdrawing your apps

At our school, one student got into Harvard, where he has dreamt of going to school for years (all he wears is harvard stuff), but he wont withdraw his applications because he wants to see if he can get in elsewhere (for fun). He's a nice guy, but this just bothers me a bit.

Congradulations to all of you

Uggh the official Yale board is wack. The interface is just so clumsy. The fact that it is patrolled by admissions officers doesn't help any. I'm afraid to post anything because if I spell something wrong or say something offensive, they might just revoke my acceptance.

The boards are patrolled by admissions officers? I'm now officially scared of CC . . . but all the same . . . Yale 2010!!

No I'm talking about the official yale board at admits.yale.edu. They're there to answer questions and such, but it still freaks me out.

It's all good, emperor550. I wouldn't be surprised if they even checked out this site from time-to-time.

edit: I'm deciding not to withdraw them not because I want to see where else I get in, I'm still not 100% sure I want to go to Yale. This may change, though; I might end up withdrawing them, especially since there's a really sweet international student at my school who I'd love to see get into Harvard.

25. poppop: Eventhough Yale is more prestige and has bigger name... but I sitll think that UIUC has better engineering school.... so I might to to UIUC instead of Yale....or I might go to MIT, Northwestern, or U Penn if i get admitted

As someone who was deferred from Harvard, I hope that those who have been accepted to a SCEA school will think seriously about withdrawing their apps if they are are truly not interested in certain other schools. In RD, most Ivies have a less than 10% admit rate-last year alone, Yale, Columbia, and Harvard had <7% RD acceptance rates. Please do not take a spot b/c you're too lazy to withdraw your application. Think of those that didn't get accepted, we're hoping for one of the few spots left.

v1. Emperor550: Harvard, UVa, Emory (the scholars application was a pain so no reason to withdraw)
2. izzy123: Probably nowhere else (I love Yale so much!)
3. chocl8lvr: harvard, need to compare financial aid...but i absolutely LOVE Yale
4. Rico06: I love love love love Yale I've been freaking out since I got my acceptance letter... but I'm still applying to Rice for financial reasons, and perhaps to amherst as well. I might keep my apps in at Columbia, Princeton, and Stanford... but Vanderbilt and Harvard are going bye bye. We have too many kids at our school applying to those places, and I will NOT deprive them of an opportunity to get into the school that could possibly be their dream.
5. Gorby: definitely Rice and GWU (ohhh....they're offering me so much dough), maybe Pomona and Swarthmore
6. Masamune: Princeton, Stanford, Harvard, MIT
7. mijehar: not sure
8. DizzyDani88: Cornell, Williams, maybe Swarthmore
9. blivy: Harvard, Stanford, UC Berkeley
10. archjma: Columbia, Brown, Stanford, USC, NYU, UIUC...I had contemplated Princeton, but it'll be Yale in the end...(Financial Aid was awesome!)
11. rizingphoenix06: Stanford, maybe Northwestern?
12. sunninights: removing all my UC apps, keeping Stanford and the med programs at USC and Northwestern (though... how i'd be able to choose i don't know..)
13. the bard lives: Yale, Yale, I am sticking with Yale!
14. Fut18000: Emory, Rice, Cornell, Brown....withdrawing Washington and Lee (my mom's choice..ick) and BU
15. richard: UMich (already applied), Harvard & Princeton (to barter for FinAid, if necessary), and Columbia, Wesleyan, and Middlebury (already submitted pre-App to last three).
16. filmxoxo17: I didn't apply for financial aid so I don't need to compare packages, and am not interested in trophy hunting esp. since this year is one of the most competitive college wise at my prep- I don't want to take someone's spot... So Yale 2010!!!!!
17. blurblurblur: stanford, just because i've already sent my app and may as well see what happens
18. mesotired9: nowhere else. holy crap, I'M GOING TO YALE!
19. IVYPoison: HYPS with stanford already sent. NYU Stern, UMich, USC
20. calculus_girl (aka quiltguru's daughter): Harvard, Wesleyan, Brandeis apps are already in, so I figure I wouldn't withdraw them. Also, I'm into U of Mich, but now I'm into Yale, I sure as heck am not writing that Honors College essay.
21. kcrpeterson: I've already applied RD and I need to check/barter the money issue, but I want Yale so BAD!: Wesleyan, Tufts, Brown, U. Rochester, Queen's (in Ontario).
22. AcidDango: Withdrawing Harvard . . . leaving Stanford/Princeton/UChicago
23. paperfish154: looking for FinAid, but YALE is it for me!
