**** Official Class Of 2011 Rd Decisions ****

Okay, I completely stole this from a Notre Dame thread - (he admitted taking it from somewhere else!) But here goes…

It really is helpful for prospective students to see the decisions that will begin to roll in. It really does help, so please post.

Good Luck to everyone

Copy and paste the following into the reply. Then fill in the answers. First decision, then SAT scores, etc.
Remove the spaces inside the brackets to make it work…

Let’s make it a little more easier to read by making ACCEPTED green, REJECTED red, and WAITLIST yellow. Do this by by putting Red, Yellow, or Green in where the word “Red” is right now in the first line.

REJECTED
Only rejection out of 12 schools and it was my top choice

ill apply as a transfer tho

mistermurph18 - what other schools did you apply? Would you mind sharing stats?

i applied to BC as a transfer this year, althouh I didn't apply as a freshman. Beware.... they get like 1200 apps and accept around 100-120 kids. so you better keep your grades up extremely high, do lots of interesting activites, and write a stellar essay.

good luck!

I live right near Boston, so I was happy to see the letter when I got home... :)

General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc:
This was such a uplifting letter to open after the Brown rejection. Good luck to everyone. :)
Going to attend? If I can scrape up some money

did french horn really help you that much? or are u like insanely beastly? i'm interested because i play trombone/cello (pretty good at each if i may say so) and didn't know if they were hooks if you weren't like ridiculously amazing.

I've made my local district festivals for the last three years or so, and I've played in a lot of different ensembles inside and outside of school. I would consider myself good, plus I come from a high school music program with an excellent reputation. If I don't include my commitment to my instrument, I really don't consider myself that strong an applicant. Music takes up a majority of my main extracurriculars.

My band director also says that students who play rarer instruments (French horn, Trombone too!, Tuba, etc) that are excellent players are more appealing to colleges than the millions of people who play flute, trumpet, etc.

I don't know if that helped. :)

juvo-- so does this mean decisions are in the mail???

Yep, received it today. Mine was postmarked March 28th

Applicants accepting a place on waiting list: 2,000
Students enrolled from waiting list: 225

yes it does juvo! im the same way, made select groups early on in HS and have played in select bands with students from about 50 schools a bunch of times and im from a HS with a beastly music program (our orchestra/choir did the mozart requiem last year and sold about 900 tickets).

How did you receive the letters? UPS? FEDEX? Or Regular?
