[*] Other thoughts:I just want to say something to the CC's out there who are applying to college next year - whether Duke is your dream school or not. DON'T listen to everything people say on the "chances" discussion threads here. More than a few people told me that I had NO CHANCE at most of my schools except for Vassar. Well, I did get into Vassar...but I also got into my dream school, Duke. Some people said that my rank was far too low, and that my course load wasn't rigorous enough because I had concentrated on my journalism work rather than taking 20 AP classes. I didn't win any huge competitions, but I did care deeply about everything I did...and I worked hard. Remember that college decisions are TOTALLY subjective...so remember that, although people may mean the best when they chance you,(some people on here are awesome) it by no means reflects your admissions decision. They haven't read your essays or recs, and they don't really know who you are. Good luck :)</p>
