[] Why I think I was accepted/rejected/waitlisted: could be many things (relatively low GPA, randomness); may have unintentionally conveyed "lack of fit" in "Why Duke" essay by emphasizing aspects of Duke that admissions people would not see as school strengths
[*] Other thoughts: Congratulations to all those accepted! Duke is a wonderful school for those for whom it is the right place to be. For those waitlisted or rejected, good luck on your continued search for the place that will be right for you.

Gundik -- Azerbaijan is my favorite country name :) I did a report on it in 9th grade because I like the way it sounded! Congrats about your Duke acceptance!

wow...just a few years ago this could have been the results thread for Harvard...now I dread seeing this year's HYPS decisions. To all those accepted: Congratz! You should be insanely proud of yourselves having weathered such a stringent admissions process. To those rejected/waitlisted: For the most part, it doesn't mean much...every single applicant I saw on this thread was very much qualified (the adcomm might've rolled a dice for all we know). Expect great results from the rest of your apps!

Actually, I want to say that my interview was HORRIBLE and I still got in. I mean, my interviewer said i was utterly unprepared, that my "resume" I showed looked elementary, and that all this showed that I was not willing to make an impression for Duke. I had given up on getting accepted, but i guess interviews are not that important.
