hey linam111 if I can talk to you over PM that would be awesome and it would calm me down a lot because im in the verge of collapsing I'm a Penn ED since you have similar stats to mine

it seems that people with lower sat/act scores have more acceptance! It's a better chance for me!

jtirado777 yeah no prob

wow...i just read this thread and it is seriously the most random decisions thread i've seen here on CC

For any of you who've received a decision, did the letter say anything about the statistics of this year's Early Decision pool (acceptance rate, # of applications, etc)?

Freeefondue, aapplications were up 12.5% and Dartmouth takes about 35% of the class ED.

what is up with dartmouth? some of those were really crazy. Anyway, Ed'ers from other schools, don't get discouraged. If you were deferred, don't give up (i was deferred from Cornell ED, got a guaranteed transfer, going there after next semester), and if you were denied, I'm a SURE with the stats I 've seen that you will be going somewhere amazing. This is just one bump in the road.

*Decision: Deferred *

I agree. All this seems rather random. Maybe Dartmouth puts more emphasis on the peer rec than we've all thought.

Dartmouth takes about 35% of the class ED.

Really? I found this...

[quote]
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions aims to admit between 390 and 400 students from the early decision applicant pool this year, Laskaris said, which would result in a 24.8-25.5 percent early acceptance rate. Early decision applicants will be notified of their admissions status in early December.

So I know it might not be consolation, but Dartmouth (even ED) is pretty damn selective. You're all amazing students, despite your decision.
