Got acceptance letter yesterday with an $8,000 recurring Dean’s scholarship - HOWEVER,
the letter says “we are unable to offer admission to the BS in Business/MBA program at this time & that I can reapply after 90 credits and a 3.2 grade point average”. My major is still listed as Business Administration. Are they talking about an accelerated program that I didn’t get into? Is this the program Drexel’s known for and I’m in bus 101?

sirrod,
My guess is you’ve been accepted but in Liberal Arts, and need to show you can do the work and get the grades to get in the program you desire…

sirrod - You are correct in saying that while you were accepted into the business program, you were denied from the accelerated program. However, if you succeed in your first year or two of college, you can re-apply and they will consider your application again. You will be taking introductory classes in business, but so do all business majors (including BS/MBA students). BS/MBA students may just be able to omit some extra courses/electives that aren’t absolutely necessary so that they can compact their schedule and get both degrees quickly.

Thanks you for clarifying that for me. Much appreciated.

I applied for the Music Industry program during the first full week of November. My friend, who had applied in early October, received his acceptance letter to the same program about a month after he applied. It has been almost 7 weeks and I still have not received a decision. According to the website, my “file is currently under review. A decision has not been made regarding [my] admission status to Drexel University.” I heard back from my safe school in literally 5 days, so I’m beginning to get a little impatient. Did it take anybody else this long to receive a decision? This is my first choice school and I would really like to know if I got in or not.

Accepted here also. BUT only got $19,000 scholarship… what does it take to get a full tuition scholarship?? I had a 1570/2340 SAT… did anyone get a full tuition scholarship? Drexel is ridiculously expensive.

ONLY 19K??? There are many applicants who WISH they got that much…

It’s alright–
Nobody rides for free
Nobody gets it like they want it to be
Nobody hands you any guarantee
Nobody
The hearts are hard and the times are tough

haha qdogpa thanks for the comfort. its just that i wont receive any need-based aid because of my family income, so 19k is all i got.

My D only got 15k,and we also will not get any FA…So let’s both consider ourselves and families lucky that we got anything,as we both could likley afford to pay full freight with some sacrifices to lifestyle…good luck

My son applied before the deadline for Ed Music Industry and is still waiting too
