Official Class of 2014 Pitt Decisions Thread

I just got my scholarship letter two days ago, which is approximately two weeks after I got my acceptance. I don’t know if it’s different depending on where you live or not. I live in PA, and Pitt draws a lot of very good students from my school, so that may or may not have had an impact.

Thanks Parent56 and MBJ. Checked and found that My son’s status is complete.

sxn should hear shortly then, took about 2 weeks from complete to acceptance… once app said complete online it never changed, got a letter in the mail with acceptance. good luck. oh and btw, if that email was in your son’s and you didnt know about it, here is what we did for apps…set up a separate gmail account just for college apps, that we both knew name and password to so i could be checking also… has really helped us.

General Comments:

Accepted to School of Arts and Sciences. Just submitted ACT of 33 - called and admissions said my file will be reviewed again. Still hoping for scholarship, honors college and pharmacy guarantee!! What are my chances?

Someone with a 33 already received a full tuition scholarship, so I would say with your GPA, great recs, and hook you stand a good chance. I think your new ACT should definitely get you in honors and will hopefully get you scholarship money and that guarantee you are looking for.

CONGRATULATIONS! Hail to Pitt!

oh thats good news…33 may mean full tuition!? now waiting for the sholarship news that may be better than hoped. acceptance letter already says eligible for honors

^ Yeah see page 7. Alantill received full tuition and a chancellor’s invite with a an ACT of 32, so they really look for anything from a 32-36 on the ACT for full tuition (when combined with other strong factors).

Full tuition would be AMAZING. I love Pitt so much!

“Conditional Accept to the 6 Year Pharmacy Program (somehow)”

Wow no offense but I’m shocked too. My friend had similar stats with a class rank of 11% and the rejected her cause she was 1% off and you’re 20% off.

My application status is complete, is there a way to check the status of my admissions decision (admit, defer, reject) online?

Please, post the date your application showed “complete” on the website with your decision.

Early in the thread everyone said it took about a week, but most of those people lived in PA. Also, I’d imagine they have many more applications coming in now compared to early sept/oct, slowing the whole process down even more.

max4nhl, unfortunately once your Pitt portal indicates “Your application is Complete”, it doesn’t get updated any further. All subsequent correspondence comes through the mail.

My son accepted last week. Comp Sci major. Honors College also. Now anxiously awaiting scholarship info.

School Type:Public

General Comments: first acceptance!

Waiting impatiently for scholarship letter.

Any ideas what he might get?

It is kind of an unofficial understanding that the scholarship committee looks for a around a 1450+ SAT, so your son could very well receive a full tuition scholarship with an invite to apply for the chancellor’s scholarship (full tuition, room, board, fees, etc.)
Good Luck!

Accepted. Planning to enroll shortly. (OOS)

Got a full tuition scholarship as well as a chancellor’s scholarship nomination. Sent my chancellor’s application in a few days ago. Fingers crossed…
