yeah, I was worried too about being classified as OOS. can anyone give me a link to the admissions office website? I need their number.

^u could just search for it, yourself…

i can’t find it. It seems like there are like 10 different offices in UMich.

are you serious? U of M has a page on undergrad admissions. Use the number that they posted there…

bummmmmmmmpppppp

thats not true…you do get accepted sooner based on your qualifications… where the hell did u get the assumption that it was based on how fast the AO looked over your app. ■■■■■.

run sarcasm.exe

You didn’t know? It’s like a race for the AO’s. They each get a stack of applications and whoever reads through them the fastest gets to pick who gets in that week. And, to make things even more interesting, the shortest applications always get picked. I got in by just putting my name on the application. Obviously anyone who actually fills out the application is going to get rejected…how smart and unique could you be if you actually filled it out?

/sarcasm

^^what the hell are u even talking about?

^lol.

I was just building off what the guy before me said lol. I still don’t know where he got it from, but I liked it.

i know. i meant 2 arrows up to that other guy randommm.

I guess I never really thought about that. Does this also mean you get deferred sooner base on your qualifications… meaning the time frame of your deferrel realistically determine your chances of acceptance ( those deferred early basically have no chance as those deferred late have a greater chance)? Thanks, I ask this question because I was deferred.

^ It makes sense to me. Those with really high stats for Michigan that are clear admits get admitted soon so it’s probably the same for the flip side of the coin. Those with especially low stats get deferred early.

Yes and no: while those with really high stats get admitted first and those with really low stats get deferred first, there are also those that are clear-cut for Michigan that had their applications in the earliest who get accepted.

So you can be a high admit and get accepted very late because you submitted your stuff really close to Nov. 1, but getting admitted in the first or second batch does necessarily mean you are a high admit.

Why isn’t this thread a Sticky?

^ Seconded. Alexandre, could you make this a sticky?

oh ma gawd, my stats were similar to Coolbreeze’s…

Coolbrezze and Moricarak, what were your stats, out of curiosity?

Hey, I was wondering about when will they post their decision online if they received everything by November 7?

3.1 uw GPA, in-state, 30 ACT, one of 20 top high schools in Michigan (sends 40-50 students to UMich every year, but this doesnt really matter), strong ECs (various leadership, president roles), outstanding counselor, teacher recs + another rec from a English Professor I took classes in during the summer… thats about it. What do you say my chances are like? ._.

(the reason why my teacher, couselor recs are “outstanding” is that they personally know of my family situation during sophomore-early junior year… if you read my threads you would probably know that)

oh yeah strong up-ward trend in GPA, 4 AP classes senior year, 100+ volunteer hours, 3 cousins currently aattending UMich (I heard this doesn’t count as legacy?)
