Official Class of 2014 University of Michigan Decisions Thread

motion-i just loled :D

Yeah I feel for Coolbreeze. Don’t be hatin

have any of you heard of anyone being deferred yet? Or do deferrals not happen until later…?

lol, I’m glad someone finally said it.

so… I applied like on November 1st lol. Says they got it 11/7, and last sets of info (recs) 11/18.

If they’re going to start releasing every week, ie the 10th, 17th, and 24th, then that means I could hear this week rite? Or do you think it’d be next week? =/ I know one of the kids who got accepted already a few pages back on the 3rd, and he applied the 1st also, but the last of this stuff got in on the 12th.

Gah, now I know I’m going to be freaking out Wednesday nite. Which isn’t good, considering I have a major meeting for my science fair that day ^^;; and two tests on Friday, when my UPenn decision comes out as well.

Looks like another sleepless week…

Hi people ,

I am a UMich international undergraduate applicant. My result is not yet out! . I am doubtful whether my application was considered for ER . My materials were sent by 31st October. Can someone check my application status for me ? and confirm whether I was considered as an ER applicant. I will give you my Wolverine access ID and pass . So please PM me (I will only send the pass to current/accepted UM students) .

Note :- I am worried , since UM has not yet replied is there a possibility that I have been rejected ?

you prob shouldnt give anyone your info

I applied oct 28th. Just contacted admissions and they said that yes, they will be “releasing admissions on a more regular basis.” Whatever that means, but I’m hoping it’s more than every two weeks.

Well, I finally got a decision…deferred. Needless to say, I’m absolutely crushed. U-M was and still is my first choice. But deferred doesn’t mean denied. According to the letter I got today, my application is one of a group that remains under consideration. I have to send in my second trimester grades when I get them. My first trimester grades were very good, 4.15, and hopefully I’ll be able to keep my second trimester grades just as high.

gpa: 3.65 (honors math courses brought my gpa down…urg)
rank: 29/450
act: 25 (standardized testing is not my strongest point)
my schools average: 16 -.-
ECs: lots and lots…4 years marching band, 1 year section leader, 4 years symphonic band, 3 years section leader, NHS, student council, band council president, tri-m music honor society president, 5th grade camp counselor, ect.
I’ve taken only honors courses all throughout high school and 4 AP classes ( AP English 11, AP English 12, AP Government, and AP Biology)
Strong reccomendation letters
Well written essays…I could have done a little better though -.-

Good luck to those who haven’t heard any news yet and congratulations to those who were accepted!

Oh, and I sent everything in on October 1st.

^On WA, did you receive a “view decision” link? I have been reading a few of the later posts, and it seems deferral letters are being sent without any WA updates. Is this true?

^ No, I check my WA seriously 8 times a day and I didn’t get an e-mail or the link, just the letter.

the good news is that i finally found out that i am, in fact, eligible for an early decision. the bad news is that december 24th is the day after i leave for vacation to another country, & if i’m in the last batch of decisions, i WILL shoot someone in the face.

:|

Yep deferrals are being sent out by mail without notice on WA I got mine today from CoE . Sorry to make you guys dread checking the mail and it mentions how I’ll be up for review later on… And my letter does say deferred, despite what others have said/recieved.

ACT 29, math 34
7 APs, 12 honors. GPA 3.45
member of insane amounts of clubs
NHS secretary, and student council class rep.
Introduced a full new course to my school district

Well good thing I’m retaking the ACT this weekend, I am going to start a U of M deferred thread of what to do next, look for it

so since i applied november 1, will i be one of the last ones to find out my decision (since i applied the latest you could for EA)???

has anyone found out their decision who applied november 1st?

^ From my best knowledge, and help from other CC posters, decisions have been random for U-M. In my honest opinion, I think it’s how well your stats are, and which school you are applying to. Kids with great stats, applying to enter LSA have heard rather quickly. On the other hand, students with mediocre applications, applying to LSA, are waiting longer for their decisions because of the number of subsequent applicants that have similar stats. The same would seem true for all of the other schools within the U-M.

thanks nmcm007!

so do the people who i guess don’t have good stats or something get rejected earlier or later? or maybe it’s just random idk!

^
I think if you’re borderline, they take longer. If you have really bad stats you’ll probably be rejected quickly

Where on wolverine access will it say accepted/rejected/deferred

^ login after clicking on "New & Prospective Students, then click on “application status”

Where will it say it on that page? I’m not lazy I’m just anxious and there’s a lot of stuff on that page.
