Official Class of 2016 Facebook group?

Hey erryone!! So...I was looking around on Facebook and noticed that we don't have a student run facebook group yet! (unless I'm just missing it completely haha...) If others are willing to join, I was going to set up the group later tonight so we can have a place to talk, get to know each other, post updates...you know, all that good stuff! x)

Just let me know if you're down, and I'll make one as soon as I can :)

NEU Class of 2016 holllerrrr! :D (shout out to all others majoring in Comp. Sci. and those from Jerseyyy :P)

My daughter is in some kind of FB group … I think it is called Class of 2015 though …? I know she has been on it for a week or so.

@wilberry228…ohh…can you ask your daughter which group that is, 'cause I can’t find one, and the one run by Northeastern (the 114th entering class) is by invitation only, and I requested to be part of it since I was accepted in December but haven’t gotten a response yet…

I’m pretty positive that there is only the 114th entering class group. It took me a couple days to get a response back. It probably won’t take too long.

@canuck44 Ah okay! Thanks! Do you think I should make a student run group on FB still or is the NEU run one okay?

@UisForYouandMe : Search for “Northeastern University 114th Entering Class” This is the facebook group that a lot of kids use and there is a lot of activity. Join it. Or I can add you do that group if you facebook friend me. Private message me your name or something.

It’s up to you, but the NEU one is pretty good. So far there are about 500 people in it. Even though it is run by an NEU employee, it is basically just posts by students. And there are a lot of posts every day.

Yes, that is the one 114th entering Class, sorry … and yes, you have to be accepted into it.

how long did it take you guys to be added to the group? I’ve been waiting for a few days now and still haven’t been accepted

The person who runs it only gets on it every couple of days so it probably won’t be much longer.

Anyone already accepted to NU should definitely join the facebook group. We are having an absolute blast getting to know each other, haha, it has taken on a life of its own!

i’d love to be part of it but i still haven’t been accepted in!

…i mean to the group of course lol

There are now two other request groups, the first one made a few weeks ago with about 50 students(now basically abandoned), and another made just recently for only 10-20 students who don’t like anyone else. They said, and I quote “someone needs to make the group secret” because “this group is losing value. we need better admins”. They were unfortunately basing whether to accept kids into the group according to “coolness value” and attractiveness…

I expected more open intellectuals TBH. Judgmental, shallow, insulting…like children.

Hahah OnToBoston, I know that was a bit silly, I didn’t really get it. But the original group is still going strong and I’d recommend not getting involved in the other ones.

I was surprised, it nearly put me off from going to NEU, but I don’t want to generalize the entire incoming class as these snooty, arrogant students.

As for the first group, it’s nearly impossible to keep up with, but maybe I could meet some more down-to-earth kids there.

I kust found out about the group on facebook and i read a lot of it. What the hell?!? Kids are talking about their dating problems and chewing gum like a cow. Is this a university or some girly drama page. It’s embarrassing to even read some of the discussions. Discussion about mean girl? Wow!

Lol what’s the name of the group? Me wants to look toooooo!

to xnameslessx : “Northeastern University 114th Entering Class”
seriously man…read some of the comments on that page. some girls are discussing their love life on it. its a university official page…treat it like one.

I felt so bad for some of the kids they were talking about…one person actually described a girl by saying she looked like she was 50, and not attractive enough. That’s awful, they should be discussing school, not gossiping/insulting other students.
