I just got my acceptance letter in the mail yesterday. should I be getting another letter about UHC or scholarships? If so, when should i expect that letter. The only way I can convince my parents to let me go here is if I get some scholarships to help make it a better option.

@pirate2013- I was accepted in October. My acceptance letter included an offer to the Honors College, so I assume they are traditionally in the same letter. Maybe they’ll send you an offer later, but I don’t believe this is how it is usually done. Your SAT score seems high enough to be offered UHC or some money, but in complete honesty, your UW GPA might be a little low. Then again, that’s just my opinion, I don’t make the decisions! Scholarships always come in separate letters, usually several weeks after the acceptance, so you have awhile to wait for that.

Good luck!

I gave in my application around november 1st, around november 8th my transcripts were sent in. Then on November 15th I got my big congratulations envelope. The acceptance letter said that I had been accepted as a pre-med major! But one thing I did notice is that Pitt isn’t like Penn State where it tells you more or less where they are with your decision, you just get the envelope one day. Hopefully you get your decision soon, good luck! :)

PLME Dad, wonderful job! How many positions are available in the Guaranteed Med program?

cecilturtle: Thanks, but credit goes to D, and there are 2 more gates to get through yet. AFAIK, the GAP-Medicine approximate-numbers for a typical year: 200 application invitations → 50 interview invitations → 10-15 acceptances → 75% matriculation rate.
