Got in last week my stats are here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=1399949 got full tuition - just turned in chancellors scholarship app … Hoping to get opinion on chances??

^ In case you are interested in chances for Chancellor’s as opposed to your EA schools, you may want to read my post on another thread and it’s follow-ups. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-pittsburgh/1416830-letter-fron-chancellor-3.html#post15053726

I believe that UPITT is fair and transparent (invitation seems to be purely driven by a combination of SAT/ACT + Class-rank, with unclear relative weightages, I admit), but if you are a pure-data-driven-quant you would be gald that you are not an ORM [ only 2 recongnizably-asian-names in this list equate to ~ 2/50 or 4% or so; agreed, it is neither scientific nor definitive. ] [Recent Chancellor’s Scholars | Chancellor’s Scholarship Application Website](http://cscholar.honorscollege.pitt.edu/recipients))

Wish you good luck w/ your EA’s and Chancellor’s !!

Decision accepted!!! To Arts & Sciences
stats:
GPA: 3.35 UW
SATs: 1737 ( didn’t submit)
ACTS: 27
1 AP, not many honors. I go to a very good private school so the rigor is automatically there. I am instate also. I applied at the very end of october. good luck to everyone

my daughter only got $5000 scholarship: 35 ACT (2250 SAT I, did not submit), top 5%, 4.0 GAP UW, 4.2/4.3 ugpa, in state. NMSF, AP scholar with distinction. Believe have excellent recommendations. Did not get full tuition :-(.

My son got a letter requesting his mid-year grades that will become available in Jan. Did anyone else get a similar request? Tx.

We got the same grade request. Still hopeful…

I received the same mid-year request:
GPA: UW:3.84 W: 4.94
SAT 1100/1720
Rank 32/460
Top 10% of class

Really good ECs and I currently have a part time job and prior volunteer experiences.
I’m a part of Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society) National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, and a lot of other clubs

Pretty sure my recommendations were good, if not great.
Essay was decent.
I know my SAT scores suck but in all honesty, i never really got a chance to prepare for the SAT because things always got in the way. I thought I had a really good chance of admission since someone at my school was a lot less qualified and received admission, but i thought at least everything else would make up my SAT scores.
Currently, I am expecting 5 As and maybe 1 B for my 1st semester grades. I am taking 4 AP classes and 2 honors classes

***Applied to the Arts and Sciences School

What are my chances?? I visited Pitt and I really like the setting of the school, but if i get rejected here, I’m really questioning my options at my other out-of-state schools.

Did anyone else get a request for mid-year grades???!???

Can you check if/what scholarship was offered to you by emailing the financial aid office?

@potentialpanther - Short answer: If you are already waited a reasonable time after admission, and need to know the answer to if/which/amount/etc, you can email or telephone the OAFA.

Policy wise, PITT automatically considers all qualified applicants for merit scholarships simply based on the main application (essay is expected), and the admission letter boiler-plate tells you that you will be notified of scholarships based on the scholarship committe decision. Since there is no separate scholarship application, they are not obligated to notify you if you are not awarded anything, and there is no online status check available via PittConnect either. So, they must be used to getting inquiries, I bet. Hope they have good news for you!

@monkey1995: I’m puzzled that you are in this boat - your GPA is stellar! Granted your scores are not great but the mid-year grades are not going to change that, right? unless they expect you to retake SAT? Just trying to understand the logic here…
