**General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations, etc:
Quiet Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to be even placed upon the wait list. This came as a very pleasant surprise when I opened the email. BUT HOLY CRAP, they don’t tell you until LATE. Really late. I’m trying what I can and what they suggest. Dream school 'ya know. I can only keep hoping to some degree. Either that, or submit to what some might view as defeat, others might call victory. I have to declare for another school. HOWEVER. I was wait listed here and at another school and I have about a 19% percent shoot of getting accepted to one or the other!!! So YEA! Friend of mine got in, but she doesn’t want to go, I’ve been joking with her to send an email recommending me to fill her spot. In any case, to those of you who got in, Gratz, you’ve earned it. Have fun Mulling of decisions. Because if you got in here, you got in anywhere. **

^well I got in, but I got rejected from all ivies except cornell. Go figure!

Baha but I’m not bitter or anything. I love caltech!! Just pointing out that top tier admissions can be a crapshoot!

Mr/Ms hpyscm, your tone here seemed a lot better than here:

Anyways, congrats and good luck on your CalTech journey!

Haha yeah I thought it sounded unnecessarily bad so I added the second paragraph. Really though, I’m really grateful to both caltech and everyone who’s helped me to get where I am! Good luck to everyone waiting on waitlists - caltech has ~10% waitlist acceptance rate (IIRC) so show them your continued interest and hope for the best!
