I’m not going to check at exactly 5 pm, just to avoid the high traffic.

It’s 5pm EST.

I mean only a couple hundred people apply ED, so I doubt the server will crash. That’s basically nothing.

hopefully so, and hopefully it brings good news as well (praying here)

Hey, anybody who applied RD: who got in somewhere early?

Didn’t apply anywhere early.

Hey girls, how did it go?

Oh man, did ED results just come out for you guys?? Good luck!!

Anyways, hi! I’m applying to Wellesley RD (I applied to Brown ED and was deferred). I just emailed an alumna to set up an interview (some fancy lawyer lady, which makes me kinda nervous) and now I’m thinking about switching my application to EE. Am I able to do that even after I have my interview?

This sounds cheesy, but I just fall more and more in love with Wellesley with each new thing I learn about it. :)

sludge- hello!
Welcome I think you can change your plan since you turn in your application after the interview, right? Yikes, intimidating lawyers are always… intimidating… good luck!

Does anyone know if I’m still allowed to request an interview if I’ve been deferred?

Good luck girls! I wish you all the best even if I won’t ever meet you in real life :)

Cantabile7 and sludge: Early Decision results came out on Friday afternoon/evening. I was accepted, but it seems to me that there were quite a few deferrals and rejections :(

Cantabile7, this is what Wellesley’s website says about being deferred: “If you are deferred, sending certain additional materials may be helpful to the College during the next round of the decision-making process. You may want to send us your most up-to-date grades, a list of any recent special honors or awards you have received, or any helpful information you may not have provided with your initial application. An additional recommendation may also be helpful. If you have been deferred and you are not sure exactly what to send, just contact us and we’ll help you decide.” Their office has been very helpful every time I made an inquiry, so I think your best bet is just to call them. :)

politicalgirl- congratulations!
I think there are more and more people learning about Wellesley and applying, so it’s getting harder That, coupled with the fact that I’m an international applicant make my chances lower but… there’s still hope!
Thanks for the quote, I just emailed them to ask how to submit additional documents.
Merry Christmas!

Wow, congrats politicalgirl!

Yeah, the office is generally extremely kind and helpful. I emailed them over Thanksgiving and got a response on December 2nd, but that’s because they were closed.

It’s still not setting in for me that I have finals this week even though I had my college final last week. So it’s definitely not setting in that it’s going to be Christmas next week. Next week?! Holy crap, I didn’t even realize that.

But yes, Merry Christmas/Happy Kwanzaa/Happy Holidays if you don’t celebrate either. Basically, since I don’t claim to know all the winter holidays different cultures celebrate, just happy holidays in general!

Hey everyone! Congratulations to all who got accepted Early Decision!!! I’m applying Early Evaluation and I just wanted to know if I have a chance.

GPA: 4.33 weighted (school doesn’t do unweighted)
Class Rank: 15/216
SAT: 710 CR, 620 Math, 750 Writing (2080 overall) (I’m kinda bad at math in general lol)
SAT II: 740 French, 690 Bio (Ashamed of the Bio score lol)

Activities:
-Improv at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre
-Was president of my school’s international club sophomore year (they change them every year)
-Literary magazine member
-I tutor kids in French (both volunteer and paid)
-Part of the Exec. Board of Student Council
-Member of Interact
-Member of tennis
-Competed on The Challenge on MSG Varsity
-Tutored kids in English in Serbia while I was on vacation

I’m really into international stuff as you can see. I took AP French in my junior year and I took Japanese classes at a local community college. I also speak Serbian at home. I put my academic interests as French and Psychology. I’m also first generation college student if that helps. I think that my interview went well and showed interest by visiting and talking with a representative at my high school. Any input would be appreciated!! Thank you!!

Meowmix13: I feel like the only things holding you back a bit are your test scores and your lack of leadership roles in your ECs. However, your application on the whole is solid, and if you write a unique, thoughtful essay and procure glowing recs, you’ll have a good shot at admission.

Good luck, fellow Early Eval applicant! :)

Thebeatlestoday: Thanks for your input! I wish you luck.

I just got everything set up with my interviewer and we’re meeting Monday afternoon in her downtown law office. @_@ This is so nerve-wracking.

don’t worry, sludge! it’s pretty informal & it’s actually fun! good luck. (:

Just had my Wellesley off-campus interview. It went pretty well, I think! I didn’t feel as awkward as I did in some of my other interviews.

It was actually pretty interesting and fun.

I’m excited to hear back from Wellesley! I’m pretty confident I’ll get in, but I just want to know. I’ve been accepted to a really competitive school EA, but I’m really liking Wellesley more and more. It just seems like the right size and attitude and campus and stuff. There are some downsides, but I think it could be good.

I applied to a school with more than double Wellesley’s acceptance rate, but I didn’t get selected for a special program so now I’m kind of worried… So far, I’ve gotten into the schools I’ve heard back from, but they’re all safeties…

My interview went pretty well imo, but I feel like my essays were kind of weak, and my GPA is definitely really weak. I have my test scores going slightly in my favor. Ugh.

I had a similar problem during the ED round. I signed up for an interview in early October but didn’t do it until November! No worries! (:

Here’s my advice: Shoot your interview coordinator another e-mail as a friendly reminder. Give her 24-48 hours to respond. If she doesn’t respond, I’d definitely contact the Interview Admissions Office! I’m not sure what their office hours are during the holidays but e-mail / call them ASAP!

It’s not too late at all! ;p I didn’t do my interview until November 1, which was the deadline for ED applicants (until they changed it).
