Official Class of 2018 Thread

Hey, girls! I applied to Wellesley RD and filled out my FAFSA the first week of January. However, when I log onto MyWellesley, it says they haven’t received my FAFSA (but they have my CSS Profile.) Is this the case with anyone else? I’m kind of freaking out; I’m scared I did something wrong :(

iddy09, my D is in the same position. She filed her FAFSA January 1st and it is not showing up. However, it just showed up in another college’s portal last week. (It wasn’t showing up in ANY of them so we were afraid it had gotten lost altogether.) My guess is that Wellesley simply hasn’t uploaded the FAFSAs from the government site yet, and/or hasn’t updated the portals. It’s scary, though, isn’t it? We decided not to get too worried about it unless it still isn’t showing up by the second week of February.

One thing: did you receive your confirmation email after you submitted the FAFSA? If you received it, and double checked that Wellesley is in your college list, then it’s probably fine.

I submitted my Wellesley EE application back in December. I keep looking at the countdown I have on my iPad and I’m so excited! By the way, to those with the FAFSA not showing up issues, I am in the same position, they say it is all missing in my Wellesley portal except my CSS. I wouldn’t worry, it is likely they just haven’t gotten around to do your financial calculations yet if you applied RD, so they haven’t downloaded all your forms. But if you’re really worried, email sfs@wellesley.edu

Thanks so much!!! My other portals aren’t displaying it either, but I’m going to assume it’s because it’s still pretty early!

My FAFSA says the same thing. I think I submitted it Jan. 10th.

Don’t worry, guys! I had a similar problem with other submitted materials when I applied to my early school, and even though it took a month, the materials were finally received electronically. So even though I’m having the same issue with Wellesley not receiving my FAFSA (even though my other school already has), I assume it’s only because the system is overwhelmed / the Wellesley admission office hasn’t logged it yet.

@lydiamanglin Yes! I know exactly how you feel! ;)

That sounds amazing, I’m sooo jealous! I would have LOVED to visited some actual classes, AND ATTENDED SOME CLUB MEETINGS OMG THAT SOUNDS AWESOME. That’s awesome!! The 5 other girls on my tour were really sweet too! Ahhh omg I know, I’m so scared that I’ll be rejected and that all of my dreams will come crashing down. :frowning:

My friend is currently at Smith so I’ve been able to ask her more ~personal~ questions, and I decided it wasn’t the school for me so I ended up not applying there! I also think that if I were to go to a college like Smith, I wouldn’t enjoy it as much because I NEED to escape the “bubble” sometimes and go out to the city or just get out of where I am at the moment (which makes Wellesley perfect ;)).

Hi ladies,

Does anyone know if we fax or mail our supplementary financial documents (W-2s, Tax Returns, etc)?

I tried to call the financial aid office, but they have already closed for the day… February 15th is quickly approaching and I don’t want my forms to arrive late :(

^^ Relax, the financial document won’t be due until 03/01/2014. See http://www.wellesley.edu/admission/finaid/applynew/guideprospective</a></p>

lydiamanglin: I believe either one is fine. My D mailed hers in the regular mail. make sure you label every page with your name and Wellesley ID.

@txhandan @staceyneil
I wish you could see my face right now; I’m SO relieved. Thank you!

I checked my financial aid portal again today and they do have my FAFSA now, so you guys know.

So I’m new to this thread! How many of you are EE? I applied EE and the further we get into February, the more I think about it.

@pennyballoon Same, I applied EE. The nervousness is real…

13 more days!!!

Yeah, I also applied EE.

I didn’t :frowning: I knew my interview wouldnt be completed on time, so I thought I wouldn’t be able to apply EE. I totally regret it!! So excited for all you girls!

I didn’t apply EE because I signed up to interview for RD. I think it might actually have been completed on time but I just decided to do RD anyway just to make sure. I thought I wouldn’t mind waiting a little bit longer for when all the rest of my acceptances come out but now I sort of regret it. I would really just like to know where I’m accepted. My interview was somewhat terrible I think and I’d really like to know if it ruined my chances.

deleted

@Collision96 I’m sure it wouldn’t “ruin your chances” unless you were mean or offensive. I think really outstanding interviews are rare.
