At the University of Michigan, Chemistry in the school of Literature, Science and the Arts is perfect for my interests. Taking a look at the research opportunities in such subjects as bioorganic chemistry and organic synthesis is extremely interesting to me, since I am currently taking an organic chemistry class in high school. Looking at the possible schedules listed on the department page, there is a good distribution of my interest, chemistry, and other courses to keep me balanced and refreshed. The wide range of faculty means that I’ll be sure to find someone that I could connect with and there’s even ACS, a club just for chemistry. I can tell that I’ll be surrounded by people with interests similar but not exactly like mine, so that I can work with others to do really exciting research. The school is extremely relevant to my interests."</p>
<p>it’s rather lackluster but i guess i assumed state schools are number-focused, and my CA essay was good. at this point I’m tempted to start putting blame on recs.</p>

<p>@umnr21 Oh crap I just realized it’s a 500 word max. No wonder. I’m not sure how I would’ve overlooked that, prb since my other schools all wanted like 200 words tops. So yeah I guess they figured I wasn’t interested which, tbh, is a little true but not THAT bad</p>
