Has anyone gotten acceptances from Kinesiology? I haven’t heard anything but deferrals.

Deferred… :(

I was banking on Michigan… Now I have to write 3-4 college essays in my remaining days… fun!

I’m sorta venting right now, but could someone tell me what was wrong with my application other than my GPA?

Should I even try to apply to Harvard or other Ivies now that I got deferred from Michigan?

Still no email for me

This was the email:
Dear Chelsea:

Thank you for your application to the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts for Fall 2014. We are pleased that you have applied and are impressed with your achievements. However, our high application volume, coupled with the very strong credentials of our applicants in recent years, has contributed to an increasingly competitive admissions process. As a result, we are writing to inform you that your application is currently being deferred for further review.

While this is not the answer that you were hoping to hear, your application remains under consideration. All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than early April, 2014.

Strong fall semester or trimester grades may improve your status in the deferred pool of applicants. Therefore, please ask your high school counselor to forward them when they become available. Beyond that, we are confident that the information you have given us is more than sufficient for a final decision. The most successful candidates send us only what we require. Please refer to the website [Information for Deferred Students | University of Michigan Office of Admissions](http://www.admissions.umich.edu/deferred) for FAQ’s about the admission process and what to do next.

We hope your interest in Michigan continues. You have our best wishes for an enjoyable and successful end of your senior year.

Sincerely,

Theodore L. Spencer
Associate Vice Provost and Executive Director

I think I might have gotten the positive deferral letter, at least that’s what I read on last year’s thread.

My son. . . accepted. GPA unweighted 3.76, weighted 4.4, ACT 32 Composite, 34 superscore
in state. Twin sister, 33 ACT weighted GPA 4.68, unweighted 3.99, hasn’t heard a thing.

@carnold96 I got the exact same letter. So devastating.

Has anybody gotten a different letter? There may only be the one.

I got that deferral letter too

So are people still getting emails?

Does anyone know what the Comprehensive Studies Program is? Apparently I was put in it and it sounds incredibly condescending.

Has anyone got rejected? I was just deferred

If you go onto the deffered thread, some people did get another deferral letter stating that they needed more information about their applications and it was signed by the admissions counsel, not the vice president. Idk what the difference is, though.

Got in from MN at 5:12pm. I was one of the January decision people.

GO BLUE!!!

“Does anyone know what the Comprehensive Studies Program is? Apparently I was put in it and it sounds incredibly condescending.”

I second this question!
