** Official Class of 2018 University of Michigan EA Decisions Thread **

@purple/bill, thank you… was worried there might’ve been some kind of mistake haha… didn’t know there was a delay.

I got deferred, Which I’m fine with because I thought for sure I would get rejected. I heard something about a “good” vs “bad” deferral. Does anyone know what that means?

Deferred LSA :frowning: miserable night

Accepted into the College of Engineering

Sorry @Pillagerguy, it was new to me after my deferral. Bo Burnham’s What is truly like four days old, and really excellent.

One letter says that they’re impressed by your stats; the other simply says “they need more information to make a decision”. The former, is said to be better and has a higher chance of admission apparently during the RD process.

Accepted LSA
OOS-NY
3.87/4 (4.16 weighted)
SAT 680/680/700
8 AP classes (5 english comp., 4 ap physics, 4 us history)

Go wolverines!!! Hope this information helps future applicants out on what an out of state student looks like! Congrats to all that got accepted and keep your heads up for those who got deferred!

[/ul]**General Comments: **

Good luck guys! I don’t want to take up precious spots anymore since I’ve already got a university I want to go to, so I’m withdrawing

Did UM reject anyone? I have yet to see/meet a person who has just been straight up rejected…

My son is in…we are in southeast Michigan….email sent 3:30pm Friday. However many friends and classmates haven’t heard anything.

Hmm… that’s strange. I also come from SE Michigan and it seems as if all/most of the people from my school have heard back D:

I’m not a huge fan of how UMich sent out these responses… I honestly spent 3 hours refreshing my email just waiting for it

But I guess in the end it was worth it, as I got the result I wanted. ;)

Guys, there’s a separate stats thread here:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-michigan-ann-arbor/1589223-official-university-michigan-class-2018-ea-results-thread-stats-only.html

Let’s try to keep it unconfusing for future applicants.

I got accepted into the College of Engineering. But, on CommonApp, I put two major fields of interest. How do we find out which major we got in?

My WA didn’t update until an hour or two after my acceptance letter. A few hours after that, I got another congratulations email - inviting me to apply to the honors program.

It’s been… 6 hours now and WA hasn’t updated.

did anyone get accepted to kinesiology??

for all you people deferred, I just declined my acceptance because I was accepted to my ED school so one more spot open!

College of engineering- Deferred.
SAT composite- 2080

Mentioning your fields of interest is just for their reference I think. You actually declare your major by the 3rd term:

[Declaring Your Major - Engineering Advising Center | Engineering Advising Center](http://advising.engin.umich.edu/declaring-your-major/)

Did anyone here get an email about honors program?
