@cabooser 10 AP’s. Many leadership positions in sports and clubs. Top 3 in class of 350

@cabooser LSA. Great essays and recs

4.0 with 10 APs done is pretty impressive. I would put you at match/low match for LSA. If you ACT was 30+ there would be no question about it. You have a really good chance to get in either way.

Go Blue!!!

@cabooser Thanks a lot…try sending me a direct message pls

do i have a shot at getting in? im out of state and applied to lsa
3.75 W gpa (low i know, however significant upward trend with a 4.32W junior year) 9 a.ps total, 6 honors clases total, 2260 sat, club volleyball for 3 years, varsity xc for 1 and a bunch of other ecs. i also have good essays and reccomendations

What is your UW GPA? Your SAT is on-point for LSA.

my school does not release unweighted gpa, only weighted. i also got all 5s on my aps

Hmm probably a high match/match at LSA. I think you have a good chance at getting in, OOS is a bit harder.

I’M GOING INSANE. All of my friends are getting into their first choices and I feel happy for them. But! I’m here without a single acceptance yet haha.

@spongebob I would say you’re a reach. UofM puts a lot of weight on unweighted GPA. While your SAT is solid and so are your other things, your GPA is just too low. The unweighted range is about 3.8-3.9. So a 3.75 weighted is too low.

i do have a strong upward trend so i hope that helps does umich recalculate gpa? and am i more likely to be rejected/waitlisted/deferred or accepted (which i’m hoping obviously lol)

Yes. A’s = 4, B’s =3, C’s = 2. They disregard +'s and -'s.

As of right now, I would say you’ll probably get deferred, but possible accepted later on. Anything can happen.

How is the 4.0 GPA calculated from a x/100 scale?

I have around a 93 UW GPA and I’m getting different answers ranging from 3.66 to 4.0 when I search the web, using the (x/20 -1) and CollegeBoard, respectively. Any help?

@Miw140^ oh praise the lord that’s how my school already does them. So I won’t have to worry about recalculations screwing me over

They will recalculate it with the grades on your transcript, not from the listed GPA.

ugh i already got rejected ed from stern. i’m praying that they will just see my strengths and accept me but i know because of the gpa its unlikely :(

@spongebob, how was your “Why Michigan?” essay?

according to others i have asked, mine was great, however the “community” one was my best by far.

Hmm… I’m not sure about you. You’re just going to have to wait and see. It really worries me that you were straight up rejected from NYU ED. I would have expected you to at least get deferred. I’m sure you will not get rejected EA from Umich. If you do get deferred, really try and push the demonstrated interest in UofM. Also, how are your grades looking for 1st semester?
