<p>how much do you guys think inner school competition will play a role? around 15 over qualified kids from my OOS school are applying… will they take all of us or just the 5 best? All 15 of us have 33+ ACT and good GPAs.</p>

<p>@WishfulWolverine It will depend more so on your EC’s, letters of rec, and demonstrated interest than your grades/gpas (if they’re about the same) I doubt they will admit all of you. I’m sure the admissions office can weed out the students who actually want to go to umich.</p>
<p>there is a girl at my school who also applied (only about 4/5 of us) but she has like a 4.4 gpa and stats much higher then mine. however she ed’ed to upenn so do you think admissions will see that and potentially defer her?</p>
<p>Yeah I know for sure you dont need high ACT to get in. Last year one student got in with 25 its different for every person</p>
<p>As far as I know, I’m the only one that has Michigan as a first choice. The rest of them applied ED to HYP, Cornell, Penn, WashU, etc. I just find it hard to believe they’ll defer such qualified kids… but seriously what do I know!</p>

<p>@erindolan Same here! I was also planning on getting my dad a “Michigan Dad” sweatshirt but a. I haven’t been accepted and b. I don’t want to jinx myself by buying one now</p>

<p>my parents and grandparents went to UM so every year we are gifted michigan clothing, this year it just might sting
and then cause a skin infection that burns up my entire wardrobe nbd</p>

<p>Like my entire wardrobe is Michigan gear… I have a brother who attends. If I don’t get in (or even deferred) it’s going to be really depressing and constant reminders of my failure lol. I really hope they don’t take all these kids applying as a “safety” instead of me!</p>
