** Official Class of 2018 University of Michigan EA Decisions Thread **

Are you in state or out of state? It seems like seventh semester grades would be required if someone was deferred. If we don’t have it, could it mean we were accepted?

@hopefulsenior208,

Is that “7th semester grades” item appeared recently? If it is, I would guess that the application is put in deferred for EA.

hopefulsenior208 could you post a picture of what that looks like? Are you sure you didn’t just select regular decision under application plans.

@hopefulsenior208 I know I’m probably reading far too into this, but the fact that I don’t have it is making me really, really excited…I need to calm down…Do you know if the 7th semester thing appeared recently?

@hopefulsenior208 where would that be? Can more people check their WA and see if they have this? I don’t. The speculation from @TheWolver1ne about them possibly being RD applicants makes sense.

I don’t have the 7th semester grade things either… but wouldn’t it mean you WERE deferred because they need your grades if you’re attending? If it does mean you were deferred, then it could just mean that you got the letter about them wanting to see more grades. If this does mean anything, we could still be deferred just with a different letter or they could have not gotten to our wolverine accesses yet.

I can’t post a picture of the 7th semester thing because I do not have it on mine. It was on another girls account from my school. I know it occurred either this morning or last night. I am hoping it means that if we don’t have it that we are accepted!

I’m EA-qualified and I don’t. My gut instinct is that the link is there for Regular Decision applicants since that’s a required component for their admission. UofM wouldn’t tip their hand in such an obvious manner.

@ersnyc, I don’t have it either. It would make sense if they were RD applicants, that would be a pretty crappy way to let EA applicants know they’ve been deferred.

anyone have some not so qualified friends that applied that could check? looking like an interesting theme that so many CC’ers don’t have it! :D

She applied for early action and her account says qualified EA so i don’t think it is only for regular decision applicants because she is not one.

@hopefulsenior208,

Can you ask your friend to check her application to see if she is EA-Qualified?

She checked and is EA qualified and got the December 24th email also

On the other hand, not having it could be an indication that the applicant was rejected and they don’t need to see anything else. Not in a rude way, I don’t have it either and I feel like i was probs rejected.

@hopefulsenior208,

I am pretty sure that her application is put in deferred. I knew an EA application to another school got deferred with the letter requesting 7th semester grades this year.

I’m not sure what it is supposed to mean the person I know that has it thinks she will be rejected or deferred. I personally don’t have it and am in Michigan’s averages for both test scores and GPA. I also know that students that are in the top ten of my class do not have it. I am hoping for the best and hopefully we will find out soon!

@hopefulsenior, can you post a picture of your WA? I don’t have the 7th semester grades thing, but I have a gray bar under “tests” with nothing in it and I was wondering if everyone has that or it’s just me…
I guess anyone who doesn’t have the 7th semester grades requirement could post it…

they probably just haven’t updated them all yet… i highly doubt it means anything (although I really hope it does lol).

@hockeygirl1158 I have that gray bar thing too

I also have the grey bar
