Strengths: …Probably none.
Weaknesses: SATs, GPA, EC’s
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I’m Hispanic and probably came off as ambitious in my essays. I’m honestly stunned, I had so much working against me. Applying after the deadline clearly isn’t the end of the line, but future applicants need to know that I AM AN OUTLIER. DO NOT DO WHAT I DID AND EXPECT TO GET IN.
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected:
Accepted: University of Michigan, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Rutgers
Waitlisted: Washington and Lee, Georgia Tech
Rejected: Harvard, Princeton, Cornell, Columbia, Rice.

General Comments: Getting an acceptance letter after Ivy Day was honestly so unexpected. I am incredibly stunned that I made it in. DO NOT DO YOUR APPLICATION LIKE I DID. JUST DON’T DO IT.

I received my result on Friday, the 28th.

Does everyone who was rejected get to choose to be placed on the waitlist? Or only people who nearly made it?

Only people who were explicitly invited to be placed on the waitlist can be placed on the waitlist. Those who were rejected are no longer in contention for admission during this cycle.

I mentioned the research I am currently conducting at UofM.
