Why did I not get in? Especially when I got into UCSD, which is considered more selective?
I’m not quite sure. I have a couple guesses.

UC Davis admits by major, UCSD does not (but I did get into an impacted major at UCSD). Maybe civil engineering at Davis is super selective.

UC Davis does not recommend SAT subject tests. UCSD does. Maybe Davis does not put all that much weight on Subject tests. Maybe the subject tests helped put me over the top aT UCSD but did not help at Davis?

I’m not really sure why I didn’t get in. But that’s okay.

Congratulations to all the people who did get in. For those who are going to Davis, I hope you enjoy your time there.

I’m flustered. I really was considering Davis, and I thought I had a good chance, but getting rejected really has me disheartened. I’m really worried about UCLA and UCB. I knew they would be a pretty far reach to begin with, but I thought I had a pretty good chance. This rejection really hurts because I would have liked to go to Davis had I not been accepted to UCLA or any private schools (or even if I did, I probably wouldn’t be able to afford them). Anyway, I did get accepted to UCSD which made me feel a little better, but this has been consuming me all weekend. Congrats though, to those of you who were accepted, I wish you luck in the future!

ACCEPTED!
