@Sa1naaa it depends on your major, in general i think Davis is slightly better
@ukitake123 Tnx. I’m getting to the same conclusion
Any clue when the MyAwards page will become unrestricted?
Does anyone know the waitlist stats from last years fall applicants?
@ssfan97 The waitlists at UCs are expected to be used differently this year. Have you checked out this article?

Weaknesses- Low overall GPA, no special ecs
Why do you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: My GPA was too low and didn’t have great extracurriculars
General Comments: Not too disappointed I still have many options.
Where else were you accepted/rejected/waitlisted: accepted: Purdue University, UC Riverside(2k/year scholarship), The Ohio State University(12k/year scholarship), Stony Brook University(6.5k/year scholarship), Penn State University, San Jose State University, Uconn, UCSC rejected: UCSD, UC Irvine, University of Wisconsin waitlisted: UIUC, Cal Poly SLO, UCSB
@Schmosby So more students will be accepted off of the waitlist? Why is that?
@sffan97 Supposed to be more. The UC system hasn’t finalized a budget with the state of CA, so they don’t know how many more kids they can afford to educate yet, but they were still expected to release decisions on time, so they didn’t increase class sizes this year but IF the final budget allows for larger class sizes, they will probably pull from the waitlists. At least that’s my theory, but I’m just a freshman applicant, too.
Waitlisted…
ACT: 36
SAT II: Math 800, Physics 780
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): ~3.9
UC GPA: ~4.3
Got into UCLA, UCSD, UCI, Cal Poly SLO
… fuk davis lol
Wrong forum…
Did any OOS get the actual acceptance letter yet? It’s been like a week and I received UCSD’s but not from Davis…
@yellowwdaisies
I haven’t gotten my Davis packet yet and I’m in-state.
@yellowwdaisies Same over here, OOS. Waiting waiting waiting.

[] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Varsity Swimming, JV Water Polo, Key Club (Membership Chair), Science Olympiad, American Cancer Society, volunteer at local science museum, UCSD COSMOS
[] Job/Work Experience: never been employed
[] Volunteer/Community service: plenty

[/ul]Other[ul]
[] Applied for Financial Aid?: no
[] Intended Major: Biochemical Engineering
[] State (if domestic applicant): CA
[] Country: USA
[] School Type: public; ~2000 students
[] Ethnicity: Chinese
[] Gender: F
[] Income Bracket: $150,000-$200,000
[li] Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): does COSMOS count (did not write about this in essays though)[/li]
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: test scores (well actually just my ACT scores in my opinion; and definitely not my AP scores), ECs
[] Weaknesses: GPA, AP scores, some of my SAT IIs, essays were risky
[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Not quite competitive enough for this major. Waitlisted at UC Berkeley (as opposed to rejected) probably because I didn’t apply for an engineering major unlike how I also did for SD and Irvine - also got waitlisted at those two (I know right, 4 UC waitlists?!). Also waitlisted at UChicago. Rejected from USC, UCLA, and Northwestern. Accepted to UCSB and glad I have that to fall back on.[/li][/ul]General Comments: Good Luck!!! (I received my decision on Friday, March 13th but just didn’t post about it until now.)
