Official Class of 2020 Northeastern University Early Decion/Early Action Discussion

We have a cousin who did NUin and loved it! Kids need to look at this as a wonderful opportunity and they are still going to their ED school!

I did not receive a call…officially worried :-S

@movinglaciers there may be many reasons. 1. You didn’t provide a number on the common app to be contacted by the school. 2. they may be calling those who are potentially scholars, so you may still be accepted.

Can someone Chance me? I’m freaking out for EA!

^^^ Just curious where this template originated from? Very useful and I see it around a lot, curious about the source. Thanks.

So, it did not seem that ED kids got the phone call but EA kids are. I did not receive one and applied EA. Should I be concerned?

Could someone tell me if they will tell us the decision by email or do we have to check the portal?

Did anyone get accepted to Bouve School for nursing major so far? What were your stats? Our daughter applied EA on 10/13 and the wait is driving us crazy ! Her stats are UW-GPA 3.55, SAT 2100, some college classes, extremely demanding HS in Westchester-NY.

@itsisha I think the email says your results are ready and you then check the portal.

Is the pre-acceptance phone call for all EA admits? I haven’t received one yet, so I’m kind of worried.

@mrpwnage it seems like NU’s version of a “likely letter”. NU admits WAY too many students to call everyone they plan on accepting, so don’t stress out at all. It may be a way to contact those they consider to be at the very top of the applicant pool. By calling the top students ahead of time, it may drum up some excitement/positive associations when decisions do come out as it is likely a safety for those tippy top applicants. Basically, an attempt to increase yield among the best applicants.

Just because you are not in a select group of tippy top applicants doesn’t mean your chances are diminished whatsoever.

Does anyone know how many students were accepted ED

I also haven’t received a call, though I did provide my number on the Common App. So nervous for decisions!

Well…I haven’t received a call either. I hope the theory of calling only “top applicants” isn’t universally true as I’m really hoping for Scholars…

EA applicant from CA here, and I’m freaking out!!! How competitive is D’amore-McKim?
