Official Class of 2020 Northeastern University Early Decion/Early Action Discussion

accepted in vermont! 25k/year dean’s scholarship
34 ACT and 4.45 weighted and 3.8 unweighted

Accepted in Maryland with a 3.4UW, 2160 for engineering + Deans Scholarship!

@Much2learn it’s not our CS department who maintains the portal, lol. The original concept was to release after school let out per requests of GC’s nationwide. This is why the wave starts on the East Coast. However, I’m guessing they break it up into smaller regions just to make sure that calls/questions can be managed.”

This wastes much more time because students who have Final exams tomorrow are wasting hours gawking at the Northeastern portal. It looks like they have some little old lady typing up emails and sending them out one at a time. The way they are staggering the results over several hours looks like they have very little server capacity, computer capacity, and technical sophistication.

Has anyone who has the mid year report request been accepted?

I don’t have a scholarship tab :frowning: I guess that means I didn’t get any merit aid. Which is strange because I’ve gotten a big chunk of merit aid from other schools

Where is the box on the portal?

I’m in, w/ achievement award. FL.
Just how do I know if I got into Honors program? BTW I applied for undeclared major so…

Ps I’m In CA too

@GoPack87 - Congrats from a fellow Wisconsite! It turns out a lot of east coasters don’t know a lot about Wisconsin, so I managed to convince a professor that I grew up on a moss farm. Other than the relative lack of fellow Packers fans, it’s a great place!

@Much2learn - Releasing the decisions over an extended period also spreads out the time when people are checking, which reduces the load on the server and the likelihood that it will crash.

@collegegold11 From my limited amount of time back-referencing usernames, no.

What do I do if I don’t have my nu id

I didn’t find a box either @senioritis07. From CA too

I got in!! Colorado, 35 act, wgpa 4.8. Chem engineering. $80,000 scholarship. However, I don’t have any tabs on the left about honors. Does that mean I am not in honors?

@dorothylewes call NU ASAP. You’ll need it to check your decision. xx

@dorothylewes You have to call admissions and they transfer you through like 5 people before they make you answer like 8 security questions, and then they’ll give it to you. I went through it this morning

@Much2learn lol “wastes much more time”…Pretty sure that if you can’t study because you’re distracted by this admissions decision (which you know is only updated once at the top of the hour, and you’ll receive an e-mail when it’s ready)… you’re not ready for Northeastern.

Will they not email me my nu id for decisions again?

A couple of years ago NorthWestern University (that other school in Illinois) sent out all notifications at the same time. Several internet providers flagged it as a spam attack and blocked the emails. Worst part is that each email had a unique link to that student’s decision page. Big mess! Some students didn’t find out their decision for a couple of days.

Did anyone get accepted knowing that they had the mid year report

deferred with a 3.5 gpa and 26 act :\
