@MidwestMomTo2 Thanks for the info and good luck!
@LkL5789 Yes, I ran the net price calculator and it said I should have received between 4-5000 in grants. Will there be any big change in financial aid when i submit my fafsa?
I got the $25k one. (and I didn’t get into university scholars but I did get into honors)
@SenatorSunshine I also got the $25k one and Honors (no scholars though) GPA 4.49 ACT 34 I really liked my essays (biased lol)
And I had gotten call the Thursday before decisions came out saying they were impressed by my achievements
@xheki05 I’m not sure…I am learning too. I know you have to careful filling out the CSS profile. Some of the line item definitions are not that clear and a wrong answer could impact your award.
Accepted to the 6 year PharmD program EA, 3.9uw gpa, 32 act, lots of ecs (4 year varsity athlete + 2 club teams, NHS) but no merit money? is each applicant considered for merit aid regardless of major/program? if that’s the case, I’m a little confused as to why I got no $$
Are most EA accepted students actually attending?
Has anyone gotten the acceptance package in the mail yet?
What have they sent out in the past? Kinda hoping for a shirt or something lol.
@kaatherinee Probably not in all honesty. Tuition isn’t cheaper than my other options so if I can get into my target schools I’d likely go there instead.
I got in EA to the Honors Program w/ a 22K scholarship for the College of Sciences.
GPA: 99.1/100 W, SAT: 1510/1600, 11 AP classes w/ 4s and 5s except one 3 in Calc BC
I am not a president of anything and no sports but super dedicated to Junior Classical League and Reading Bowl, co-founded 2 clubs, and a member of many service groups and honor societies. I have been working for the past 2 years, 12-30 hrs a week, and do piano and dance as hobbies. 2 really good recs from teachers that know me well. A pretty solid essay.
It is still super pricey compared to an in-state school (I live in GA so would get the Hope Scholarship) so probably won’t decide till April if I can go.
I know people who were deferred, hang in there!
@suzyQ7 I am the oldest so I will be the only one in college for the next two years. Still quite unreasonable though, I think.
Accepted EA with 12k Presidential scholarship. I’m a little disappointed with the amount, and I also didn’t get into honors. I applied to journalism in the college of art, media and design.
GPA 4.19, ACT 33 (36 English and Reading), National Merit Semifinalist
EC: Editor-in-chief of school newspaper and literary magazine, president of two other clubs, captain of swim team, and a few other random things
Don’t think I can afford to go to Northeastern with this amount. Does anyone know if these merit decisions are final?
@marilyn101 You will get 30k for being a NMS finalist! So turn in your essay and be sure to take the SAT pronto!
There is an essay for National Merit? @suzyQ7
@nishaus yes, but that deadline passed a while back … to get your HS recommendation, do essay, submit SAT scores … that was if you wanted to try to advance to finalist.
does creating a myNEU account indicate that you’ll be going to NEU? im not 100% sure that i’ll go to NEU–i’m fine as long as i don’t pay the enrollment fee right??
@themarchrabbit correct!
@marilyn101 As a semifinalist, you should have submitted your application (including essay) by October 7th:
Timeline - Fall:
September 9- NMSC releases names of about 16,000 Semifinalists to news media
October 3-- SAT administration date
October 7-- Schools transmit completed National Merit Scholarship Applications to NMSC using the OSA
November 7-- SAT administration date
Semifinalists who took an earlier authorized administration of the SAT should have requested the SAT Program to report scores to NMSC (code 0085)
December 5- Last date for Semifinalists to take the SAT
See full list here:

Did your guidance counselor not work with you on this or did you submit your application by October 7th?
@MidwestMomTo2 OH that essay. I was scared there was another one for Northeastern in particilar. Thanks for clarifying <3
