Hey! I was wondering if someone could tell me what they think my chance of getting in are and when I should receive a response, especially since I applied EA:
UW 4.0 GPA throughout high school.
1310 on my SAT I (weakness)
[650 math, 660 English]
720 on Math level 2 (SAT II)
800 on French SAT II
I am in my schools Key club, Spanish Newspaper, I am in the National Honors Society, I am peer tutor, and I have been in my school's varsity soccer team since 9th grade.
Ranking: 6/76
My school just started offering AP's my Senior year, AP Calc and AP Spanish, and I am taking both of them.
My semester 1 average during my Senior year was a 95.
@juliadanan well you have amazing stats! Northeastern gets a lot of great candidates but you definitely seem to be a competitive applicant based on the numbers, so with good essays and letter of recs I think you would be accepted.
However, I am no admissions officer, but you should be hearing their decision within the next two weeks!!
ED decisions should be out Tuesday according to last year’s schedule. Hopefully we’ll get some students posting results here especially information about the new honors program which everyone is dying to hear about!
@LCP9876 It looks like your son’s score of 1430 is in the range of NEUs mid 50%. I am not an admissions officer, but along with a good GPA/reds/essay, he still has a good shot at admission. Good luck to your S! My D is also applying EA, and had a similar score (1440) before re-taking the SAT in October and improving her score to 1520 (760M, 760V).
@OCNYmom - thanks! I am just hoping that they’ll consider his Nov scores. I think his new scores will get him accepted - but hoping to avoid EA deferral. Oh well - just have to keep our fingers crossed & hope for the best. The January EA schools indicated they will consider his new scores which is good.
@Bozusaki It is ED decisions that may come out on Tuesday 12/6. EA decisions may be out a week later 12/13. That is based on the last two years pattern.
If anyone is curious, I spoke to NU admissions counselors and they told me that EA applicants who they would rather admit to NU.in will be deferred to the RD round regardless. This kinda stinks. NU is one of my top choices and I think they’ll see me as a good fit for NU.in, which I’m okay with, but then I’ll have to wait until spring to find out! Argh!
My ED App Status Check page on Nunet has changed from a checklist and a friendly paragraph brief to a close to blank screen saying All Requirements have been completed. Guessing my app has been processed/a decision has been made. Anyone else?
I sent mine in on Oct 20, which may explain things happening earlier than you guys, although I think someone during my tour asked about something similar and the rep said applying “earlier” within deadlines doesn’t change anything.
