Accepted!!! Away from a computer, so quick stats: 2110 SAT, lots of music related activities and leadership positions, rank is 4/424 ish. Pretty bomb essay which was probably my saving grace lol. Pleasantly surprised. Hopefully I’ll be able to attend

Good luck everyone!!!

[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis):
[] Job/Work Experience: Zero
[] Volunteer/Community service: Played at a few piano fundraisers
[] Summer Activities: China and studying for classes
[] Essays: Pretty darn well showed my interest in Emory, if you read it you’d probably call it kissing a**
[] Teacher Recommendation: I thought they were stellar, both said they thought I was extremely well prepared for college.
[] Counselor Rec: Great!

[] Unusual Circumstances: Well I got sick for two months when I was a sophomore so…bye bye GPA (I got a 2.7).

[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Moderately high ACT score, big big demonstrated interest (I’m really good at these in my opinion).
[] Weaknesses: Extremely Low GPA for one, no volunteer activities another.
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Rejected from Emory because my GPA was too low, accepted at Oxford cause I mentioned I liked small environments…? Maybe…?
[] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected:
Accepted: Tulane, Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, Temple
Waitlisted: Washington (???), Boston University, Case Western
Rejected (This one’s long): Michigan, UChicago, Northwestern, UNC - Chapel Hill, UT - Austin, Florida, Dartmouth (soon), Washington & Lee.

[/ul]General Comments:

Happy I’m in, but can’t shake the feeling that Oxford is somehow an inferior campus to the main one in Atlanta (Oxford has lower stats). Still would definitely attend right now if Temple hadn’t given me basically a full ride but we’ll see! Hopefully I will get the money necessary to go. Congrats to all those admitted! To those on waitlists - don’t give up, show your interest! To those rejected, “…remember that in the long run where you go to college is far less important than what you do with the opportunities that surely will come your way.” Regardless of your outcome, Good luck to everyone!
