ED to Columbia (CC) and EA to UChicago! I didn’t know so many others had the same combination in mind! Anyways, here are my basic stats:
SAT I: 2270
O-Levels: 11A*, 1A, 1B
A/S-Levels: 4A’s
My school doesn’t rank or have a GPA of any sort, so I can’t give that information, unfortunately :/.
But good luck to everyone applying, hope to see you all in NYC!

ED Columbia or Carnegie Mellon… Idk yet.
EA to UChicago and MIT.

Honestly, Idk what else I’m going to apply to… I just want get this round of apps done, and come away with a few acceptances (hopefully!).

And what UChicago prompt are you guys choosing? I’m considering the "Where’s Waldo? " one lol.

Never mind about CC ED for me… My family can’t take the financial risk that comes with not being able to compare financial aid packages:( It’s still my dream school, though, and hopefully I’ll get in RD! Good luck to all of you ED-ers!

I want to apply ED and am choosing between Columbia, Cornell, and Carnegie Mellon. Do any of you have the time to chance me? I’ll chance back if you have a thread.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/columbia-university/1389975-chances-columbia-ed.html

Anyone here taking the October/November SATs? Worst feeling you can have is wanting to apply early but still needing to take the SATs. I know the scores aren’t everything, but they can seriously make or kill my application right now, seeing I have no “hooks” and typical EC’s.

Question: Do we get offered an interview if we’re applying early? And does anyone know what the average SAT/ACT scores are for early decision admittants?

Quick question- Does Columbia still ask for an optional photo with its application? Thanks in advance!

ED to CC

Others:

-UChicago
-Penn Wharton
-UVA
-William & Mary
-Vtech

Keep this thread alive! Post chancing in here!

I’m not much for feeding my self esteem to the wolves with posting a chance in here, but how is everyone coming along with their applications? I am SO incredibly close to submitting… just waiting on one more teacher recommendation letter and for my guidance counselor to do all his work. I’ve worked on my essays religiously, and will be working to improve my SAT scores in a week and two days! I’m doing anything I can for Columbia!

Wow, overachievers xD I was not nearly this prepared last year.
I would strongly encourage those who finish early to sit on their apps for a little. My friend turned his in early October and spent the next two months regretting that he hadn’t included x or y. (Anecdotal, i know) Siemens is also a factor for some of you. But all the more power to you if you do it early. There aren’t any advantages in the process either way as long as you do it pre-deadline :)

Don’t forget you can always email or call (calling may be safer) with updates along the way such as winning an award/competition, elected to an officer position, or made a significant accomplishment.

Extremely nervous for this! I’ve wanted columbia for 4 years, yet I’m always being discouraged by my peers and parent. My stats aren’t great, but I’ve been working diligently on this app. RD to Chicago, Vanderbilt, and UT Austin bonne chance mon copains! (Good luck my friends!)

I just signed the binding signature for Columbia ED. :s It seems very final. I love the school, but where did the time go??!?!? haha. Well I’ve been working towards Columbia for a while (and I’m sure everyone here has as well) so good luck to all!!

Hi,
I’m an international student and Columbia is my dream school, for a number of reasons including the core curriculum.
I have to retake my SAT reasoning and am taking my 2 subject tests in…3 days

Just wanted to ask a few questions:

1) Is there any disadvantage to submitting my application on October 30th (a day or two before the deadline)? Like, how do you “sign” the document that binds you ED? Does that take time or…?

2) Do you think it’s better to apply ED with weaker SAT stats or bump up your stats and apply RD?

Thank you and good luck to u all… so nervous :/

I just sent in my app…so nervous. Ive been working on those essays for a month. I hope that, high ACT, lots of extracurriculars and kickass recommendations make up for my 3.9 gpa weighted. I’m so scared.

Wow, I don’t think I’ll be ready to send my application in until the 20th at least. I’m a little envious…

[Would really appreciate some chancing though](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/columbia-university/1400668-chances-ed-2013-a.html)

Columbia is ranked as #2 in my Questbridge rank. I’ll have to see if QB accepts me as a finalist but if I am, that’s my ED, along with Yale, UChicago, Penn, and Princeton.

Yeah i mentioned earlier in the thread, as Adezar1, that i was considering ED to Columbia (Fu engineering for Environmental Engineering)
Basic Stats:
3.97UW (4.603W)
rank: 12/492 (this might screw me over since i’m not top 10)
AP exams: Bio (5) Chem (5) Calc BC (5) Physics C Mech (5), Physics C E/m (5), Euro (5), USH (5), English LAC (5).
Senior load is 5 AP courses, 1 standard required course.

Indian Male from TN
lots of EC’s and i think my essay is pretty good too, based on what other people have said. But yeah, good luck to you all, and may the force be with you

CC ED!!! I hope I see you all there!

Hi!
Already submitted my ED app. So nervous/excited!
