@hobbesette, Idk for your case. I’ve sent my app on Oct.31st and my admission status indicates they all have my transcript+SAT score+ rec etc

Hmmm that’s strange because when I called in today they said that they had everything… Does that mean that my app tracker just isn’t updated…?

That’s possible, I guess. I suppose it takes some time to update your online status.

oh btw does anyone know what no tests on file means? Does that mean that they don’t have any of my test scores? O_o

Yeah, I’m pretty sure it means they don’t have your scores. Did you send them recently? They can sometimes take a while to process. shrugs

I sent in my ED application on October 30th and have yet to get an email or anything from Columbia. (I got the Common App confirmation.)

Do I need to contact them to be able to get on the Application Tracker, or do I just need to be patient and wait for them to contact me?

@cat987 – I’m in the same circumstance as you, except I submitted the Common App and its Supplement on October 24th. I e-mailed them last night at about midnight and have yet to receive a reply; I’m hoping to get my Columbia ID soon so that I can check my application status online.

For application status, are all it shows just whether they received scores, transcripts, teacher rec, etc?

@cat987 and Colum2017 that’s weird because I submitted my app on November 5th and I got a confirmation from Columbia on the 7th… Check your spam perhaps?

Check your spam, I received numerous emails from columbia but my I’d was in my spam.

Does anyone know if checking “no” on the “have you ever visited the campus before” question on the commonapp supplement makes any sort of difference? Hopefully they dont care

I’m sure they’d prefer to see that you’ve made an informed decision after having toured the campus in person and felt the vibe of the school, but if you live in like New Mexico I’m sure admissions would understand if you didn’t make a trip all the way up here to New York.

Also: to everyone who is worrying about the lack of a reply/confirmation from Columbia, this page will help you. It says you should expect your Columbia ID up to 30 days after submitting everything.

@s65amg: not sure if it’s relevant, but we do not count “demonstrated interest” in the application process. So having visited never vs. once vs. fifty times is not supposed to matter.

Source: I’m on the MRC and they told us this.

@neiro6

Thank you. I was also wondering this as well. Does MRC mean Multicultural Recruitment Committee? It was the only Google result that came up.

I’m applying ED to Columbia as well as: Princeton, Penn, Stanford, UChicago, WashU, Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, Vanderbilt, and NYU if I don’t get in. Can you guys chance me and tell me how reasonable my chances are at Columbia ED? Thanks.

@neiro6, if you’re on the MRC, do you know Kamilah Holder? She’s my admissions officer but I’m having such a hard time getting in touch with her

Applied ED to Columbia! Also applied to Brown, Boston College, Duke, Chapel Hill, and Emory. I’m not too keen on this waiting thing…

@cardoza Yes, that’s right. There are three RCs (Undergraduate/Multicultural/Global).

@hobbesette I don’t know her specifically; it’s been a bit of a crazy time with the ED deadline and the hurricane and Thanksgiving so she might be hard to get a hold of. Do keep emailing, but I also recommend calling - do it now before ED decisions start the call bonanza.

Do any of you know what day is decision day? If I had to guess I would say December 13th because for the past couple years, Columbia has been releasing decisions on the second Thursday of the month.
