Good luck from the Duke Board

@collegeconfid Andover is an awesome school, I was just looking for something smaller when I was applying to boarding school. Now I think I’ve outgrown very small schools so Columbia it is!

I’m really happy people are wishing us luck, it makes me really want everyone to get in! thanks nate and spectravoid, same to you!!

Good LUCK!!!

-HMC ED

good luck from a Dartmout EDer! My best friend is applying to Columbia and really wants to get in.

@laurazee: Haha, I know her pretty well too. We’ve known each other since we were like…10 or 11. She used to go to my school (in Shanghai). :)

Good luck to you all, I’m jealous in a way that y’all will know so early, and I still have to wait for over three months. :)

^On the contrary, if you were as nervous as I am at the moment, you’d be grateful for those three months.

srrinath, I know exactly what you mean. I’ve realized I’m going to be fine with whatever decision I get- it’s either going to be a big wonderful surprise or just something that fulfilled my prediction. The waiting is what’s killing me.

@ laurazee

I would like to say that I’m going to be okay with whatever decision I get, but I know I’m going to be crushed if I am rejected. I am definitely not expecting to get in (after all, everyone on the ED thread is so qualified and accomplished,) but I don’t want to face the reality of writing 12 supplemental essays before I go on vacation (December 25.)

Columbia has been my dream for a while now, and it will definitely hurt if I don’t get in. It’s especially frustrating because all of my friends are telling me that they’re sure that I will get in, but no one can say that with certainty, because it’s all speculation really. My favorite teacher was trying to console me the other day and he assured me that if Columbia can recognize talent and potential, I will be admitted. It is hard to say this without sounding at all conceited, but I do think I am a talented individual and I know I have a lot of potential.

Blah. The next few hours are going to be tough.

@roseknows
Don’t worry about sounding conceited- if we didn’t all believe that we had a smidgen of a chance in the first place, we wouldn’t have applied to ivies. And in order to think we have a smidgen of a chance, we need to believe we have talent and potential. My friends are saying they’re sure I’ll get in too, and you’re right, it IS frustrating! Columbia’s been my dream since 6th grade, so obviously I will be disappointed if I get rejected. I’ll be okay in the sense that my mind does a good job of immediately burying bad news, but it’ll surface eventually. We’ll hang in there. I hope we get in.

@x.wondergirl did you go to SAS Puxi? I went to Dulwich! Do you know Tiff Gesang by any chance?

i am so nervous.

understatement of the year for me

Good Luck to everyone from the Cornell ED forum!

Hopefully we will all be celebrating today. We can fight through this last hour and a half!

I go to Andover. I welcome all to apply. We had a 15% acceptance rate. I’m only a Freshman.

I loved Groton too when I applied. Loved the revisit day too, but the 3/4 walls are such a turnoff.

Good Luck Columbia ED-ers! LESS THAN 15 MINS LEFT OF WAITING!

It’s people like you that make the college application process so much less stressful.

I am really thankful for College Confidential. The Columbia 2014 ED applicants have been a HUGE support system for me, as cheesy as that sounds.

Only a few minutes now. I wish you all the best of luck.

good luck guys!

5 minutes.

good luck to everyone. i didnt even apply and im freaking out. i hope all of you get in.
