I'd put those awards on your Activities page, where it says 'honors won, offices held, letters earned,' after the appropriate activities--I assume if you've won awards for them, you've listed them on that page. If not, put them in Additional Info.

To print preview, you've got to click 'submit.' The first time you click it, it won't submit your app, don't worry--at the bottom of that page there's a button to click if you want to print preview.

What text box? So essays A, and B are supposed to be double spaced?
[/quote]

Like, the essay about your activity... I think that one's 150 words or something. Don't double space it. It's the essay you don't upload. The same for the short answers in the Suppliments. But the essay you do upload. That one you double space since you're typing it in a Word document.

Go with the word limit. They only give you so many characters becase you have to take into account people might space once or double space. And some people use long words... I don't think it'd hurt you if you went over as long as it's not waaay over. Don't go for 300 words or something when they asked for 150. Just like in the second essay. They have no max number of words, but it probably wouldn't please them to have a 1,000 word essay when they have so many to read already.

When it asks for how many credits your courses are...how should I write it? My school has a semester schedule. Well, see, English is one credit.

Should I write it as:

AP English Literature AP English Literature 1.0

or

AP English Literature 1.0 AP English Literature 1.0

or

AP English Literature 0.5 AP English Literature 0.5

Question:
How many words should the long essay be? Mine is at 695 words right now, it is done but will be edited.

Specifically looking at Stanford, they state the following:
"Long Essay (found in the Common Application's First Year Application): Candidates must choose 1 topic and respond (not exceeding the space provided, which is approximately the length of 1 page)"

Is this alright then? Because I have been seeing mixed results through the threads on CC.

I'm not sure what they mean by that... There's not a max amount of words you can use this year... And since you're uploading a Word document, there's really not a limit to how much you can write. Maybe they just want you to keep it in the 500 range or something? Maybe it's just them discouraging 1,000 long essays or something.

"* Has disciplinary action been initiated against you at any of the institutions attended, including the University of Maryland? "

This a common q for most uni's...I wanted to know how specific are they asking? I mean if got detention in 3rd grade that counts against me o,O?...

If you have redone your common app submission using the
"replicate" feature can you post if the common app id number
at the bottom was the same or different between the submitted
common app and the new replicant?

Some of the colleges have specific subject area teachers they allow to be recommenders...is Literature counted as English? if not, i'm in big trouble =(
I already requested my literature teacher for a recommendation....

Anyways, I go to a high school where all juniors and seniors are mandated to take classes at its affiliated college. So all juniors and seniors don't take classes at high school but at a college; thus, graduating with a college degree. So, I was wondering if I could get my secondary school report for common app. from my college counselor since my high school really doesn't have an assigned counselor and the principal is new (just came this school year). I don't know if any of you guys actually have an answer to this question T T......Is there any other places i could ask about these stuffs?

If I submitted my application online, do I have to pay my application fee online also, or can I still send them a money order?
For the UPenn applicants, Do I have to submit the Arts and Athletic supplemental forms for UPenn? If yes, how do I submit them and the Early Decision Agreement online? There are no links to submit them online.

Yea for the disciplinary action part you just need to check yes if you've either been suspended or expelled, if it was for getting a detention...well then I think we all would have to check yes lol

OK QUESTION!!!! I'm about ready to submit my common app so I hit the preview button and I noticed a part that said "I am applying for the term beginning______" so I figured I skipped the part where you check off like Fall 2008 so I went back and I couldn't find anything that asked that type of question so now I'm scared because if I leave that blank I dont want them to think im applying for Spring or something gaaah HELP!
