OK, my applications are due Jan. 1, so from numerous threads, I got that I have until 11:59 Eastern on Jan. 1. I’m trying to edit my supplements right now [5AM Eastern, Jan. 1], but instead, I see

ERROR: An error has occurred please contact technical support for further help

WHAT IS GOING ON?!!! DID I MISS IT?!!

And yes, I know I procrastinated…

–EDIT
OK, I was able to get into ONE of mine. Is the commonapp site lagging? Does anyone else have this problem??

I have the same problem! I’m so glad I’m not the only one because I was getting worried. My Northwestern supplement hasnt been opening, but my Harvard supplement is fine. I emailed the tech group so hopefully this problem is fixed soon.

Wow, your message is comforting- both because you have the same problem as me and that you’re awake at this time too. haha. And yeah, the Stanford supplement is fine now, but my others are still screwy.

i have the same problem too! i emailed them already and am praying they get back to me before the deadline… which is in less than 15 hours?!! is there any way to call commonapp direct to get it done immediately?

okay so i called my teacher last night and she said that she hasn’t mailed her recs in yet and some of them are due today! Howeverrrr, the post office is closed! Do teacher recs have the same deadline as the actual application?

Actually, I have been emailed from colleges, (including Harvard and Stanford) UNSOLICITED reminding me of deadlines, etc. The emails imply that they knew that they were on my common app list. It is very weird, I’m not sure how they knew as I never contacted them for information, application or anything…But it does appear that when you put a college on your list on the common app website that the college gets that information. (Hopefully they don’t get information about other colleges tho…)

You’d be worse off if you didn’t report them, because they get them anyway from the official board and you’d look like you were trying to hide something. They’re fine scores, but Yale is impossible to get into, so focus on your 2nd choice school and just pray for Yale…

It doesn’t matter!! Calm down!! If you submit the ACT, Yale does not consider your SAT IIs. When they say they do not consider it, they are not lying. It is a policy, not a joke.

You could be on any number of lists that get you unsolicited e-mails; usually these are lists from fellow schools that sell your name if you’ve asked them for information electronically. Or from College Board. I doubt it’s from the Common App.

Thanks guys!
And about the emails, I have been getting those too. When you create your Common App acount they ask you whether you want to receive emails from colleges, so if you say yes, I believe this info becomes disclosed.
