[] ACT: 35 composite (35 E, M, R 36 S)
[] SAT II: 780 Math II, 760 Bio E
[] Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): Sent the weighted, 5.33/5
[] Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): top 10% is all my school releases

[] IB (place score in parenthesis): no IB here
[] Senior Year Course Load: Hon. Physics, AP Chem, AP Calc BC, English, AP French, AP Econ Micro/Macro

[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): FIRST Robotics (electronics captain, head of PR), Mathletes (3-year captain), Scholastic Bowl, Debate (assistant captain), WYSE
[] Job/Work Experience: Have held a part-time job since I was 16, same one for 1.5 years
[] Volunteer/Community service: Mentor FLL kids at a middle school
[] Summer Activities: Mostly lounging, attended a SWE camp
[] Essays: I liked them, other people did too
[] Teacher Recommendation: Great, both know me very well
[] Counselor Rec: Great, she knows me well
[] Additional Rec: didn't send one
[] Interview: didn't have one
[/ul]Other[ul]
[] State: Illinois
[] School Type: public
[] Ethnicity: Painfully white
[] Gender: Female
[] Income Bracket: Middle-class
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): none that I'm aware of
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: I have a passion for learning that my teachers addressed and that was a big focus of my application. I am heavily interested in math and science and I wrote about some of my small engineering projects that I've taken on in my spare time.
[] Weaknesses: I don't really care about grades, which can be seen in my transcript. My GPA is high for my year, but mostly because I took all honors classes.
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I was actually extremely surprised when I received a likely letter from Cornell - I thought Cornell was going to be quite a reach for sure. I think that I'm a good match for the community in my personality and overall zeal for learning, and I think that my involvement in Robotics set me apart from the rest of the applicants.
[/ul]General Comments: Unfortunately, I probably won't go to Cornell because I'm having difficulty booking a flight to visit - I was also admitted to MIT, which I think is a better match for me in terms of interests and personality, so I will probably matriculate there. Good luck to all of the other applicants!
