[li] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): my focuses were: co-founder of small non-profit, book blogger since 2009 (elaborated in summer activities); other random things: piano (11 years), viola (5 years, various orchestras including All-Sate), school newspaper (news staff writer, business editor), UNICEF club (VP), county SGA executive board member, amateur commissioned artist, various honor societies, etc. that I don’t think I mentioned[/li][li] Job/Work Experience: paid tutoring job during 11th grade school year (through a different non-profit, but got paid to tutor and design student-tailored lesson plans), Bank of America Student Leader program (sponsored internship at YMCA) this past summer[/li][li] Volunteer/Community service: I think my transcript says 460+ since I got lazy with submitting, haha: hospital Pediatrics (with kids!), instrumental performances at nursing homes, non-profit, some stuff through my book blog, more of the usual though I left out one-time events[/li][li] Summer Activities: 9th-10th: started book blog (correspond with pretty much all major publishing companies on a regular basis & ABC Family, decent size) & an entrepreneurship program; 10th-11th: taught middle school students (ages 14-17) in rural China (designed our own curriculum for 7 subjects); 11th-12th: Bank of America & Otakon! :'D[/li][li] Essays: ehh, decent, started them the Friday before they were due. General Comments: GOOD LUCK ON ALL REGULAR DECISION APPLICANTS! =]

Decision: Accepted

This is the best moment of my life. I’ll post my chance thread:

Scores: CR: 800 Math:700 Writing: 760, 2260 overall. 770 on Biology E and US sat 2’s and 790 on world history sat 2. 5 on English Language and Bio AP exam. 4 on US and World.

Grades: 4.09 cumulative GPA, weighted out of 4. A in an AP is 4.8, B is 4.3. A in honors is 4.5, B is 4. Everything else is normal 4, 3, 2, 1 grades. Freshman and sophomore year were weak. Half A’s and Half B’s in mostly honors and 1 AP class. Junior year I got A’s in AP english, world, bio, accl pre calc and a B in honors french. I’m taking AP english, calc A/B, euro, french, and psych and honors gov/econ next year. Unfortunately, my mediocre fresh and soph years put me in the top 20% of my class at my public HS. My grades have shown significant improvement in addition to increased class rigor which I’m hoping will make them forget about a lackluster start.

EC: Varsity volleyball captain, eagle scout, debate team captain, 2 years in FBLA, 4 years as a guitarist in my church band, I will be writing for my county’s newspaper during my senior year as well. I’m in NHS and I have over 100 community service hours (not counting my eagle project).

My dad went to Cornell’s ILR school too, which will help me out. I was wondering what my chances are. Thank you!

What does it mean if they are still reviewing your application
