***Official Cornell Class of 2016 Spring Transfer Thread

I believe there are a reasonably good number of applicants. Clearly, not all of them must be actively participating on this discussion, as this thread already has 1.8K views and counting.

^Great point!

@RedBear2016 Ahh that might help, but I didn’t get the email/can’t access my financial to-do list. I sent my midterm report in around that time (definitely by the 25th), but there was an issue with my school sending my transcript so my app didn’t complete until around Nov 1-3. Have you tried logging in to the housing portal?

I was under the impression that we couldn’t log in to housing until we got accepted, but I’m likely mistaken. On a side note, is anyone else applying to CALS?

@cahanks You’re completely right. But in past threads, people who could log in to housing early were usually accepted within the next few days.

Wow, I had no clue! I’ll check it out right now and get back to you.

@Vctory, I keep getting “Either your session has timed out or you are currently not logged in”
Guess I’m doing something wrong.

^No worries, that’s what most of us get. Once you can actually log in, that’s (previously been) a good sign!

Oh, alright. Has anyone else been able to get in?

@Vctory How do we log in to housing? I could not find where to log in.

@Hotelieeeeee https://living.sas.cornell.edu/live/apply/housing-portal-login.cfm

@Vctory I will be living off campus, so I don’t believe that I will need the housing portal for anything, right?

^*if I get in lol

@RedBear2016 Haha probably not, but you should ask them (once admitted)!

While we’re waiting, if you guys get admitted what do you want to get involved in at Cornell?

I would personally love to work in their transfer office, and try to work as a tour guide :).

@Caintpau I think I want to get involved in a few clubs. There is one within the ILR major that I plan to join, called the Women’s Caucus. And I might look into some business-related clubs too :).

If I had to guess, people will probably start to hear back next Monday/Tuesday. I think that they release decisions in bursts, so people get their decisions in groups, not like some decisions each day. I could be wrong, but that seemed to be the case on previous threads.

@RedBear2016 Woah that’s so cool! I just did a quick google search of the Women’s Caucus haha. I saw your major was Business Admin-Finance - with Women’s Caucus are you looking to branch into socio-political issues outside of the workplace? Are you interested in politics in general?

Also yeah I think the same thing. Which is even scarier. The trend for last year’s decision rollout was: acceptances first, denials later. :frowning:

I definitely want to join the speech/debate organization because I want to go to Cornell for Law school too. Maybe a sport, and something else for sure.

Also, I think the reason the case is “acceptances first, rejections later” Is because they accept those who they are sure the want in first, then evaluate the people they’re on the fence about which get released with the rejections.

@Caintpau what major did you apply for?! Anyone else applying in CS? I’m just super excited for Cornell. I am an international student currently studying in States, and Cornell is the only university (from the list I applied to) that gives financial aid to international students.

As for the to do’s for financial aid, I was able to login today but all it says is “No current to do item information found”.

Also since the decisions are rolling I think a lot depends on when we all had our applications completed. I had mine finished on November 2 so expecting a result this week or maybe even next week is a bit too early. But can’t wait!

Anyone got some results and having issues in deciding where to transfer? I have some payment deadlines approaching so I am just hoping for Cornell to reply soon.
