I just remembered that I submitted my application on October 11th, so if we get them back on December 11th, it will have been exactly 2 months.

Maybe they have an applicant meet for an interview if they are on the bubble or something on the app doesnât jive.
or
Maybe they already have the applicant on the admit pile and that is their way of being sure that what they are seeing on the app is what they are getting.

Maybe a post regarding past admit/deny ED applicants they were invited for an interview would help to get a consensus on if it is a good, really good or a bad sign.

At this point I personally donât care if they contact my D or not. My D applied ED and has not received an interview and it doesnât worry her in the least.
She is a strong enough applicant for this wonderful school that she has chosen to apply, but if they do not accept her it will be their loss as she will surely be admitted to one of her next favs. Georgetown, Upenn. She will flourish wherever she attends, that is just who she is.

Donât worry be happy

The info sessions really depend on the college. I went to one for AAP and engineering. The one for AAP had us list our GPA, SAT/ACT scores and 1st choice college,. other universities we are applying to, and the Engineering one just checked off our names. The AAP info session also only had about 10 applicants and their parents/siblings, where as the engineering one had close to 50-75 applicants per session⊠

So does it matter? I guess it really just depends.

Yes, and when I went to the CALS info session, all they did was check off names.

But I know Iâve heard that human ecology is kind of like an informal interview

Yeah, HumEc was 7 people and their parents seated around a table with the adcom talking to each person individually for about 10 minutes about their interests and reasons for wanting cornell in depth. I thought it was great

12 more days until Dec 11!!

Hopefully weâll all get early Christmas presents from Cornell!

*I mean Santa

Iâm applied ED to CALS and websites such as Niche and college data says we will be notified if we get accepted or not on Dec 15 not Dec11. Can anyone tell me the real date.

@cesar112â : A couple of pages back in the discussion, someone posted a Cornell schedule for CAAAN volunteers that said we will be notified if we have been accepted on Dec 11th. My guess is that other websites are saying Dec 15th because that is when it is usually or because that is right smack the middle o December. Last year it was Dec 16th, but to the best of my knowledge that was on account of the extended ED deadline and large applicant pool.

Also, I heard the Harvard notification this year is the 11th, so it seems accurate

So basically the accepted applicants would be notified on Dec 11, but the rejected and deferred applicants would e notified later?

The CAAAN interview was very helpful, any idea if it has the slightest amount of impact on the actual admissions consideration? The alum I met with actually lives a few streets over from me and told me that she recognized my car hahaha, wasnât awkward or intimidating at all.

@cesar112, why would the deferred/rejected be notified later?

itâs dec 11, someone emailed the adcom, and even if its notâŠwho cares, itâs not going to change ur chances

@cesar112 @jamesjunkers I would be incredibly surprised if they released accepted and denied decisions on different dates.

What are you guys doing to pass the time?

Studying for ACT + SAT IIs just in case i get deferred, and finals

Do you guys want to take an ED pledge on reporting our decision results? Other Cornell ED threads have done this in the past.

Iâm down @Kungpaoasianâ

to pass time I made a chance me thread⊠also I am down for reporting the result
