Hi Everyone!! I know there's already a thread for Cornell Class of 2019 ED applicants but I thought I would create another to have all regular applicants vent on our struggles and ask any questions! WE should get to know each other :)
Also, don't forget to add yourself to our Facebook group "Cornell Class of 2019 Applicants" if you haven't already!!

There is another similar discussion forum “Official Cornell Class of 2019 Regular Decision;” which one is official? <a href=“Official Cornell Class of 2019 Regular Decision - Cornell University - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/1705699-official-cornell-class-of-2019-regular-decision.html.

@turqluv Write something that demonstrates your observational and creative skills. Definitely use an anecdote that captures your ability to observe the world around you. Think about what inspires you to pursue architecture.

yupp rejected from my dream school as well :(

deferred from Princeton but I’m starting to really like Cornell! applying for chem engineering and possibly chemistry (idk if i’ll end up using primary/alternate after all)

When sending scores, if we have a high ACT but low SAT I, but we want to send in the Subject Tests, will we need to send in all SAT testing history?

@reyzar, from what I gathered from calling, you can send just the act and sat subject test, as long as you send all of them (if you took 6 subject tests, send them all. if you took 11 acts, send them all). You do not have to send your sat I, but if you do, you must send it all. If you are still hesitant or unclear, call admissions.

ACT and subject tests are fine. That’s what we did. I had called admissions to ask and was advised that it was ok to do that.

If you sent in both the ACT and SAT I, will they choose the best out of the two?

What do you mean choose the best? They will see both of them. However, admissions officers are looking for a reason to accept you, not a reason to reject you, so if the scores are significantly different, yes, they will consider the higher one. But at the same time, if you sent the following scores:

SAT - 1650
SAT - 1800
SAT - 1820
ACT - 35

…they may begin to question the validity. However, if the scores are more like:

SAT - 1900
SAT - 1980
ACT - 32
ACT - 34

…you will be perfectly fine…
