Official Cornell Class of 2019 Regular Decision Applicants!!!!!

SAT - 2020, but it was taken at the beginning of my junior year.
ACT - 35, in the fall of my senior year.

I was confused by the “we require you to send ALL SAT scores” so I sent in everything… :expressionless:

You’re probably better off. If you had just sent your 35 from fall of senior year, they’d probably have thought you’d taken it more times, and we’re breaking there rules. You should be okay

thanks a lot, guys! but i ended up falling into the same predicament as @sophiawyu‌ and sending in a 2150 with a 36… :(

idk how they’ll see this

Don’t worry, they look at the highest score. Some do better on one test over the other. If you have nothing to hide, you have no reason to worry. Excellent ACT scores

Anyone here also worried about lower SAT scores??? Like scores that are between 2000-2100? I know that EC’s and leadership positions can make up a bit but anyone out there in the same predicament
Also what are you guys planning to major in?

Applying RD for Applied Economics and Management. I feel like my extracurriculars are all related to business so I’m hoping I get in.

@chasemydreams‌ pretty much in the same boat as you… 2100-2200 SAT :frowning: My ECs are very good tho so hopefully they will make up for it. Applying to Engineering too lol…

@sirswish7, what are your stats, if you don’t mind me asking. I also applied for AEM, I got deferred ED

Hey guys! For the essay, are we supposed to talk about “Why Cornell” and “Why specific college X” or just the second one…

RD engineering… hope we all get in

@awesomekid, talk about why the place you will be going is the perfect fit for you. If you are applying to a major, talk about the major. If you are applying undecided, say why that school is perfect for you. Yes, you can talk about Cornell in general, too, but focus more on the specific school/major…

You have to send ALL scores, this is said very explicitly many times. However, they’ll only look at your highest scores. I’ve called them about this when I was wondering If I could just send in my subject test. If your school puts your test scores on your transcript (a lot do) and there’s a discrepancy, you know what pile of applicants you’re going in to. Just send all them, it’s not worth the risk.

How does Cornell feel about art supplements? I’m just applying to Arts & Science and I know it isn’t recommended but hey.

@tokonomics ^^wondering the same thing except I want to send in a picture of the supplement and the award I got from it- does that seem too unprofessional??

Also does it seem weird to send in a picture of my art supplement/award because it’s too big to possibly mail to them :)

@tokonomics‌ I would only suggest sending in an art supplement if it is really good

@chasemydreams‌ that would seem kind of weird — I dont think you need to mention the award(seems kind of unprofessional too) – the art should speak for itself once they see it, and from that they can assess its creativity and your talents

Plus, I’m sure if it’s a significant award you listed it on your commonapp…

Alrighty.

Also, the results come out 28 March 2015 right? How will we be notified? Email or letter? If so, should I have log in info sent to me?

@tokonomics‌ Both, I think. The emails come out the day of the decision, while letters will take a little longer to arrive.

For early decision, it was posted on a decision checking website - we weren’t given the account until about 5 hours before decisions, so don’t get too excited lol
