Official Cornell Early Decision Class of 2017

haha, I’m glad I’m not the only one counting down the minutes. I have a timer set to 5:00 EST on my computer’s desktop.

Sci: This is undoubtedly true. But at the same time, I wonder if we only WANT to be in certain universities because we’ve spent so much time creating an imagined future of our time at university, so that going anywhere but the school we’ve imagined ourselves to be in seems both impossible and miserable.

This is probably going to sound majorly weird, but Cornell is the only Ivy/Top-Tier school to which I’ve applied. I’m equally anxious to hear back from Hendrix College, and I don’t think my world will end if I’m not accepted into Cornell.
Honestly, I think it’s crazy how hung up some people get about being accepted into an Ivy League university, instead of searching for their best fit. HumEc just happens to be the best fit for me (I think), and I couldn’t care less about it’s “prestige”.
/rant.

beatrizhb, I totally agree with you. I wouldn’t hide in my room if I didn’t get in, because… well, I have eight other options, and could even add to that number. HumEc just has a perfect major for me, and after visiting Cornell three times, I am absolutely sure that I would have an amazing four years there.

PS. Hope everyone else here from the USA had a lovely Thanksgiving!

Does cornell take the highest SAT/ACT score?
I sent in both my scores…
ACT- 31
SAT- 700 M, 550 R, 530 W (cornell doesnt look at writing, so its 1250/1600 R+M)

Will they reject me after seeing my low SAT score? Or will they consider both?

I applied to Cornell CAS
My GPA is a 95.28/100.
Essays are pretty good. Didn’t read any of the teacher recs- but im assuming they’re great.

I had emailed admissions a month ago with the same question. Luckily the admissions person said they will consider the higher standardized test score (ACT vs SAT)!

Those of you applying to HumEc, what (if any) major are you interested in?

MomofNEA, I’m down for HBHS, but I really like the idea of nutrition, so while I said HBHS, I think I might end up declaring differently. I live in the suburbs of NYC too! By that, I mean Long Island… does that count?

Human Development! I have an idea of becoming a pediatrician.

My son applied to Human Development, too. And yes, ergalassi, LI is in the NYC suburbs! We are also on LI but in the interest of your privacy and my son’s, I will stop there. Here’s hoping you all have a conversation in person, in Ithaca, one day.

Thank you, Momof  I appreciate the sentiments! Regardless of any of our statistics on this board, there is a certain degree of luck as well!

Wat did u guyz write about on da supplement?

I don’t really feel comfortable sharing what I wrote about. Even though I already submitted, this is a public forum.

Jonas Valanciunas (leg) practiced on Saturday and is expected to play against the Spurs on Sunday.
He was a little sore and he’s coming off a 31-minute outing from Friday. His fantasy value is back on the rise and Dwane Casey says he will be playing him consistently. He should be owned in just about every league.

Cornells: what?! LOL.

In regards to your earlier question, I don’t mind sharing. I wrote about my experience growing up in Brasil and how, until a certain age, I was oblivious to the suffering in the favelas not too far from my home. Then came the whole spiel about the dangers of apathy in our society and how I want to help alleviate socioeconomic burdens around the world and in my local community, and my belief that CHE would be the best place to prepare for this, etc.

Honestly, it was pretty standard, I think. That’s probably why I don’t mind sharing :)

On another note, 18 days, 17 hours, 53 minutes and 42 seconds left! ZOMG.

i cant STOP THINKING ABOUT DEC 13, 5PM OMGGGGGGG

I submitted my ED to Cornell a LONG time ago (October 28th), and according to the Application Tracking tool, all my materials have been received by the admissions staff. BUT, I still haven’t received an email with my PIN for the online decision notification webpage. Can anybody please help me, and tell me where/how I’m supposed to get my PIN?!?! THANKS

@supstrawberries Cornell Admissions will be sending emails to all applicants a few days before decisions are released with this information.

anyone know when the financial packages come out??
